Default Crazy idea. Need input

So I saw this picture today on a friend's facebook feed. We've all seen stuff like this. But it got me thinking. I have a wiring board under my hood. I could get a cheesy repop fuse block and make it look like this thing. Rusty bolts and screws, and a .22 round for good measure. Leave it out in the rain for a while and bolt it in place with a few scary wires to make it look like it's real.

I like the idea too... Maybe some other cool objects used for fuses as well... a paper clip or something in there too...
Of course the Absolutely Necessary fuse wrapped in foil gum wrapper.

Sometimes I'm just not sure if a crazy idea will translate well. It appears that this is a win

Hell yeah! I would weld/braze in your bolt/nail fuses too - keep 'em in good and tight!! Bonus if you can make it look like they "melted" into place.

Needs a 22 gauge bullet in it too. Make sure that the bullet is facing the driver.

Well, this idea is a success. Now, onto my other idea. The steering wheel. It's the original that came with the 63 vert body, I believe. It's in TERRIBLE shape. I've read about restoring wheels, but this is a rat rod.

My idea is to remove all the plastic or whatever that material is. Get it down to metal and wrap it in what we called F4 tape in the USAF. In other circles, it's called self vulcanizing rubber tape. It's rubber tape that bonds to itself for protecting wiring. So I'll have a comfy, rubberized steering wheel with another touch of military flair.

Yeah, something like that for sure. I'm not spending $200 on F4 tape

Used to work at a place where I found a 3M electrical tape container about half full of mercury. Showed it to the plant manager who promptly said "I never saw that" and walked away

I'm doing something like that for my volksrod. Totally steampunked. The trick will be that one works as a theft deterrent.
