Default A reintroduction

Good morning everyone,

My name is Adam, I used to be very active here back in the day when this was a brand new site, moving here from the old 'shoptalkforums' and faded out as I left home for college and then moved for work a million times, leaving my VW hundreds or thousands of miles away at my parents' house. In the meantime I had gotten into old Chevys and LS swaps, a hobby that is a bit more expensive than the old VW's and something that I don't want to spend the money on anymore.

My life has finally stabilized enough to the point that I was ready to take on another project and made the decision to go back home to CA from Omaha, NE, to pick up the VW that I acquired 16+ years ago which has now been sitting for 12 or 13 years. When I left the car it had just been painted and was left with no quarter windows, window rubber or interior in it but otherwise still in running/driving condition. About 10 years ago the car was unfortunately pushed outside where it continued to sit until present and the new paint went to shit and some rust has developed on the car.

Right now my plan is to get the car running again in the next few weekends and maybe get it cruising for a little while in its' present, far less than ideal condition. In time I am hoping to start from scratch with the car again and redo many things to clean it up to as good as new again but just want to enjoy it for a while to get motivated to do so. I've got a wife and a little girl who just turned 3 years old with another little girl on the way, due in August. I really wanted a toy that we can all enjoy as a family and I think this fits the bill pretty nicely.

I am looking forward to seeing some of the old faces again and meeting some of the new ones too! Awesome to see some of the OG members still active here.

The car:

Very nice looking family machine. I'm looking forward to seeing your Ghia back and on the road w/o the trailer.

Like the looks of it. Shouldn't take more than a reasonable amount of effort and materials to prime it back up.

The picture makes it look a little better than it is when you're up close, it's going to take some elbow grease to clean up but nothing I can't handle in time.

Glad to see you back. Looks like you have a good "restart" for your project. Now go put an LS in it!!

If one of my buddies pulled into my driveway and got out of that, I'd punch him right in the colon.

That thing looks like a blue clitoris.
