East Coast Meet!
Let's bring this shit back to life!!
I met with John(Bugula) and his wife a few weeks back. We had a good time hanging out. Where are all the Upper East Coast people at?
Let's get together and hang out!
I did this a couple of times while I was in Riverside, California. Had 2 or 3 VolkRodders show up and some other friends.. I can't host because I live in a townhouse community with a bullshit HOA now, but I'm totally down to drive a bit to hang out with you all!
Is there any interest?

Re: East Coast Meet!
I'm thinking of doing a Cars and Coffee meet next. Maybe on Sunday mornings.
This Thursday night I'm taking the bug over hat with Harford Euros at Dunkin Donuts in Churchville.

Re: East Coast Meet!
haha ok, so there'll be 3 of us...
I was hoping to get enough interest to justify going and getting a block of hotel rooms so no one has to drive the entire way to get to all the rest.. figure if we plan it right (probably for next spring time..) check in friday night, go to a car show or meet or something saturday, have dinner an hangout or barbecue in the hotel parking lot or some shit, then check out and head home sunday..

Re: East Coast Meet!
That does sound cool. I have to keep driving my bug to test it’s dependabilaty.
I grabbed a handful of 2nd gear for ya, when leaving the lot.

haha yeah, thought I heard that :P
I really wanna punch it on a wet road and see what kinda wheel spinning I can do, but not until i fix my broken front trans mount and install a mid mount..
also, I've been driving it daily for like 2 weeks now with my alternator pulley rubbing on my alternator.. I ordered a fancy new pulley, so I don't wanna take anything apart until that shows up..
I'm hoping it just needs shim adjustments and my alternator shaft isn't bent (it looks like it rubs more in the 1-3 o'clock positions than anywhere else :( )

Next spring sounds good to me. I would think we could pick up a few more people by then. And getting together to invade a car show shows like a great idea.
Depending on where we decide to meet up will determine whether I trailer or drive my car. No big deal either way.

Re: East Coast Meet!
My food trailer lot is not far off Rt95 and there’s plenty of hotels. The lot is 4 acres with gravel parking and lots of grass. I can get permission to have something big. Also, thinking of having one more get together before winter sets in.

Re: East Coast Meet!
I'd love to come out east, not sure when but sometime next year my wife and I are gonna spend a few weeks traveling before something happens to one of us, she has always wanted to go to New York, (I really don't care to go but I'm gonna let her get it off her bucket list since she's been so good to me thru all my health issues) if the timing is right we will definetly come, altho she won't ride in my Volksrod from here and I have no way to tow it that far, plus flying is much faster, but ya never know what can happen in a few months

Re: East Coast Meet!
We can make our way to Maryland from NYC, just depens on the timing, hafta wait and see when she can get time off work, if she has to she'll just take a leave of absence for a month or two
I wanna go back to Sanibel Island Florida again, that's where we put my dad's ashes, then I wanna head out to southwestern part of the country to see if I could live there, then I have a cousin in Redlands California, not sure if we'll get that far, we just wanna go see some more of this country before its to late, basically waiting on a bit of money to let us go thru with it
How far of a drive is it from NYC to where your planning something??
Ron

NYC to my area is under 3 hours on a good day. Not sure where the event will be going down.

Re: East Coast Meet!
Well it's all gonna ba a matter of timing, we're also planning a week in either Sanibel Island or Clearwater, depends on when my wife can get the time off work
I'll hafta get my green card to get out of Cincinnati, that's a joke an old friend of mine would say because I rarely get more than 10 miles away from our house
