Default New member from Arkansas

Hey all, my name is Jack I have a very lovely and understanding wife (thank God) and three kids 11, 4, and 1 1/2. I have owned 3 bugs now, my first was a 66 that my father helped my restored. About 4 years ago I bought a 70 and was in the process of restoring it when out of the blue a man stop by my house one day while I was in the garage working on the VW and offered me three times what i had in the car. I'm not an idiot, so I asked him where he would like the car delivered to! I now have a 69 that I purchased about two weeks ago, that is going to eventually be a topless Volksrod. When I tell family and friends what my intentions are most of them (all but 4) tell me what a bad idea it is. But as my wife has said "its your car do what you dam well please with it." Did I mention how understanding my wife is.

So I decided to trade the 69' that I had for a new one that does not have as much rust. This still needs quite a lot of work, but should be able to get this one road worthy by late summer if all goes right. Now it's to get to , &

Finally its one color!! I've been able to get a lot of work done the past couple months, I should have it road worthy by early spring. I've got everything to finish the interior, I just need to collect a few more small parts, and get the wiring worked out and its ready to roll. Oh yeah I got an early hood for it also, I ended up trading my hood and front apron for it, seemed like a good deal to me.

I got all of the glass in yesterday, what a pain! I also got most of the interior put, I should be able to finish it up today. I'll try to get some pictures by the end of weekend.
