Check the broken axle in this pic:

The question is: When did the axle break ?
Did the axle break, and cause the crash ?

From the looks of it being ejected from the car saved his life If he was trapped in there when it rolled and caught on fire he'd be a smear on the ground.. Though the axle break was very... clean.

I'd wish there was better pictures.. and more focus on the car then the freaking Toyota or Geo, or the flames.. I don't care much for 32 fords, but I do feel for the guy. Thats more vintage steel thats gone... Hopefully its not as horrible as it looks.. or at least the body can be saved. Would make an awesome rat at that point

I'm rather curious too because He Hit a median was ejected and then the car hit two cars.. Somethings up here.

At first, I thought the car was 'glas.
At second glance, not so sure.

From the pic it looks like the axle may have fractured where the pin goes through the axle to secure the wishbone. While the original Ford axles were forged, the reproductions seem to be (much weaker) castings. I recall a thread on this a while back.

Yes.

The good aftermarket axles, and all
the old factory stuff, are forged.

They will bend, if you crash them hard enough.
Should never break.
