Default Weak points in the V.W. Things...

Hey guys I'm thinking seriously about doing some barter work for a VW Thing. I need to go look at it this next Tuesday night and was wondering if there was anything special I need to look at? You know the places where they always fail. LOL I'm not too worried about the rust issues as I can easily fix that kind of stuff I was more interested in tranny, motor, steering and weaknesses in components if any? Ive never had one but have always thought it might be fun to have one. Any direction or input on these little guys would be appreciated.

I think rust is #1.

Most/all of the components are Bug, or better.
