Default Looking for shortened front end bug examples

I have been searching the forums for an example of a bug where the hood has been shortened and the front axle has been moved backward.

Anyone point the way?

Draw a pic.

Should explain why nobody has done this.

Sort of a 'Cab Over' look, but with less leg room. But if you want to see it built and on the road, tell Db it can't be done.

Isn't there a recent Beetle cab over build going on here on the forum?

I was checking out the 3d printed car and thought the front looked a little VW.

Kicking around ideas--could a fiberglass baja front end be shortened to give a similar look. To get the look the front axle might need to come back some inches, I was curious if that had been done.

Since it has not been done, it pretty much shelves the idea.

Thanks for indulging my speculation.

Volkswagnut: The picture you posted has serious merit :)

Did they shorten the front end, or
just move the windshield forward ?

Your legs have to go somewhere.

That is an excellent observation Unklian. I was focused on the front tires, but now see how far back the seats are from the dash. Unless the seats are much higher than the front, being far back would limit visibility.

Just because it hasn't been done doesn't mean it can't be done. What do they say around here?

"It's only metal."

I think if you dropped a Smart car body,
on a VW pan, you would get the same look.
