Re: Dub-N-Aire is off the paper into the garage!
You really need to roll that thing out on the drive way and gives us all a couple of low and high angle, front and rear, 3/4 views of this, Mark. I still want to draw it up....Just need a couple of decent reference pics.

Re: Dub-N-Aire is off the paper into the garage!
I saw the bubble top in person the other day. It's way cool. The pics don't do it justice.
Mark has some really cool ideas on how it will open too!

This thing is amazing. Really cool! looks like something from that movie "Sky Captain & the world of Tomorrow."
I'm curious, why did you choose the chrome headlight inserts instead of making some plexi bubbles to match the cockpit cover? Seemed like a good opportunity (front & rear lights) to keep the theme tight.
Can't wait to see the interior!

Re: Dub-N-Aire is off the paper into the garage!
Ya, that blade is almost toast. I'm too cheap to buy a new one right now.
That's a DeWalt chop saw by the way. And it was free. Dumpster diving rules. Just needed new brushes.

Just read thru all 13 pgs and all I can say is "super freaking cool". I'd roll it just the way it sits. Love all the metal work and welds. AWESOME!

Will be nice to see you back on this, but yeah life tends to derail the best of plans at times.
Glad to see it's all snug and still here :)
Don't be a stranger around here though

Re: Dub-N-Aire is off the paper into the garage!
DAMN IT!! And here I spent all this time in eager anticipation of seeing the final product. DAMN IT! I HATE THIS LIFE STUFF THAT YOU SPEAK OF!!!!
It always gets in the way. My project has been untouched for almost a year because of it.
SUCK,,,,, oh well I will still wait with eager anticipation for when you do get the Huggies outta the way and get the hell back to work, it has come so far it would be a shame to see it not finished.
And hurry before you gotta replace those Huggies for Depends!!!

Re: Dub-N-Aire is off the paper into the garage!
Life continues to throw me curve balls.....but I am almost finished with the bubble top mount. Time to start making hinges and hunting actuators. Weighed the top and bottom rim and the whole thing weighs 55 pounds. That should make the actuators way cheaper!

Mark, great to see she's still getting attention. I've been wondering about this build. Can't wait to see more progress.

Re: Dub-N-Aire is off the paper into the garage!
I'm just going through build threads looking for inspiration, and while this isn't my style, it is without a doubt the most inspired build I've seen on here. Mega kudos.
