Hey everybody, I'm Allen. I currently call Fort Worth, TX home and I work for a steel fabrication company in Euless, TX as a mechanical designer. Its a pretty good job, I get to be creative and it pays the bills.

Now for the good stuff:

This is my 1970 Baja, I have had this car since 1995. Its been through one major accident (not my fault, how do you not see a bright yellow bug?) and three transformations (plain jane resto, cal-look, and the baja) since I have owned it. Someday it will become a volksrod, I'm thinking a fenderless choptop truck with the narrow eye baja front.

Oh yeah the engine is an 1853cc with all the normal bells and whistles including a weber 40 IDF and a CB Performance serpentine belt kit.

Here are some of my other toys.

This is a 1972 Olds Cutlass that I am currently playing with, It just got a new 455 Olds big block mated to a GM T-56 6-speed trans with a 3.73 rear end to finish it off.

here is where all my money has been going lately.

This used to be an '84 GoldWing, I found it stripped down on eBay. I put this together while I was waiting for the bell housing to bolt the Olds engine to the GM transmission. (long story...)

So as you can probably tell I like pretty much anything that has an engine and wheels.

Wow, lots of things have happened since the last time I updated this. At the end of April I got married and we bought a house in North Richland Hills, Tx (just outside Fort Worth). I really haven't been able to work on anything due to the wedding, honeymoon, and the moving. But, now things are starting to settle down so hopefully I can get back to the toys.

I saw this photochop on the cutting board and fell in love with the paint job on it.

But I really want to build a truck so I played with photoshop some and came up with this.

Now while I like the long nose w/ beam extension look, I am more partial to my bajas
narrow eye front end. So, I did this.

I'm thinking this will be the basis for my project if I can ever get my Olds up and
running properly. (Damn 6 speed transmission and its weak-ass third gear)

Well plans change and I got rid of the Baja bug, a rail buggy is something I have always wanted since I don't know when. Now I have 3 , I'm only keeping the Yellow one and I'm using the other two for parts and to make extra cash to build the yellow one. I know I know worthless without pics.

Well, call me crazy but both the yellow buggy and red buggy above are gone. I now have an orange 2 seater that I have neglected to take pics of but I have been working on it when time allows making it mine I guess. I will get pics soon.

On a plus side, I finally have my T-56 back. It has been gone thru and beefed up where it needed it to handle the 455 we have been building. The 455 should be back at my house in the next week or two.

455 cubic inches of gas guzzling American iron, well and some new aluminum bits as well. Great thing about an Oldsmobile big block is that they are really not that much bigger than their small block brothers. With the aluminum heads and intake we're pretty sure it weighs less than the stock Olds 350 small block we took out.

I still love my 1835cc VW that's going in the sand rail but this is a completely different animal.

Have had a chance to work on the Oldsmobile a bit the last couple days. I knew I had a problem around the windshield, now I know for sure. Already got an email out to CTC Auto Ranch just north of me to see if they had a parts car that was solid in this area.

How she sits right now.

The main problem area.

Surprisingly no rust thru in the A pillars.

I've been wanting to build a swapmeet wagon for a while now and I think I've finally scrounged most the parts I need to build it. Anyway on with the pics.

The Concept: Gasser Wagon

Started with the something to hold it all together... kinda looks like a mini hotrod frame.

next will be the front and rear axles then the mock suspension. I have already built the rear bearing hubs and am working on the front spindles.

until next time....
whenever that is, keep on cuttin
