Default something different

Yahoo I finally get to post. This is my 69th car. I am not quite that old. First car was a 58 ghia. My current project is a 63 bug. So far I have extended the front 10 inches and rebuilt the mechanicals. I have been building batteries for the past four months. Yes it is true this will be an electric rod. I am using a not very common a123 type cell that I am combining into a five pack to equal a 100ah lithium battery. I have put painted aluminum diamond plate along the bottom sides of the car....mostly to cover up theholes in the side...but kinda looks ok. I will be building fairings on the front wheels....yeah kinda different. Not sure if I will be using fiberglass or aluminum. Rear engine cover is louvered. I would like to chop four inches.....not capable of the task myself. Cannot imagine how much it would cost to have done. Will probably end up finding a chopped bug without drivetrain that I could afford and transfer all my stuff to the chopped bug. Fun stuff at any age.

Default Re: something different

Finished batteries yesterday. Have rebuilt tranny from the Sacramento Bugarama. Just need to start some assembly. The motor adapter and coupler are finished, that took my friend and I four months to build. He has a machine shop , and oh by the way he is blind. They turned out great almost an interference fit....perfect.
