Default Back, with somthing this time!

OK, I know, I was on here a while ago, looking at bunch of stuff and asking a bunch of noob questions and shit, but then a ton of shit happened and hey, another toy was not in the picture.

But this time, now that I'm selling off my chit, I needed something to drive.

I know, it's not a beam front end, but it's my first bug, something to get my teeth into. I got a '73 Super. Pretty original, but I'm finding bondo around the body and whatnot. It'll give me a chance to figure out how to weld in body panels and go from there.

So, for now, just have to get it to pass emissions here in Denver. It's got a new 34/3 on it, but it's rich all over the place. Have some jets on order, 125 main and 50 idle, just to get it through the wringer.

Anyway, I'm just gonna be perusing the pics and drooling again. Wife is begging me to flat black it. Guess that's what I'm gonna do!

Default Re: Back, with a bug this time!

Wow, 2009 was when I had that frickin' Super? Jeebus, time flies.

Sold the '73, bought a '66, then my wife bought a '76 Super Vert, sold the '66, had heart surgery.... now I have a '58 Vert that's getting ready to get some surgery on. I'm taking my revenge on this bastard.

Anyone have anything good to say about reversing the beam on a '69 pan? Putting the '58 body on a '69 pan (want the slammed ass but not the cambered Jetta-boy look [too many of those guys around here already]) but want the front tires to push out in front of the hood. No aprons, no fenders, chopping the windshield 3" and fabbing up a carson top and trying to fit the biggest tires I can in the rear. Hell, if they poke above the bottom of the window area, I'd be happy as a fat kid rolling up on a turned over Twinky truck.

Should be rolling the pan up to the house this next week. Then off to see how much of a welding spool I can burn up on it.
