Hello all, I have been roaming around this forum for some time. My hobby interests include racing vintage single flat track and road bikes, playing guitar, Volkswagens and skateboarding (not too much anymore). I've worked as a welder/metal fabricator as well as a machinist and I do enjoy making things. I am currently working on turning my rusty 1957 Beetle into a Volksrod. My volksrod project is in the beginning stages. I removed the body from the pan after tack welding in bracing (the heater channels are completely rusted). I plan on extending the front 8-10" without a beam extender. I will use a section cut from another chassis to extend it. I plan on chopping the top 3 3/4" at least. I'm currently working on the chassis. I have the pans removed and the front clip cut off. Also, working on rebuilding a 1965 linkpin beam with adjusters and drop spindles, and type 3 wide 5 rear brakes.
