Default Ian is finally doing it

My name is Ian. I'm a 30 something student/nursefather who has neglected my own interests for far too long. My wife pretty much said to get back into what I enjoy or else. So, she helped me find a rusted out type 1, and said "cut it up and make that volksrod you're always crying about". So that's what I'm doing. Next Friday I go to pick up this 61 beetle. Since I'm a busy man, the build will be slow, but it will keep me sane. I just lab on replacing the heater channels, patching the rust, and the battery tray needs replaced. After that it want to do a Capella chop and extend the beam. Finally I will build a 1914 cc and throw that in. I've owned a few air cooled VWs in my life. A 67 type 3. A hand full a of various type 1s. Usually I just go for "moar low" as the VW community in south west Ohio lives and breathes that. But this will be the first volksrod I build. I've been following and reading so many forums and builds o. This page for the past couple years. And I'm ready to do this. Thanks for letting me in.
Ian

Default Re: Finally doing it

I was all set to start involving fenders and taking out the interior when the sky opened up and a torrential downpour began. So.... not today. And I work tomorrow. I'm hoping, weather permitting, that I can try again on Tuesday. I need to get tire dollies this week so I can move it into the garage. The left front wheel locked up (need to find out why) so I can't just push it in. We had to put a tow strap to the tree and hook it to the car so we could drag it off the trailer. But I'm looking forward to this.

So I'm following the directions in the sticky, but not a single picture has shown up.
