After years of bike building, I dipped my toe into the Volksrods world but with quite a twist.
Bay Area Rods had already built a 32 pickup with a vw engine and there next build was a 32 roadster. I jumped at the chance being so use to aircooled engines be it 2 wheels though.
I got it but years latter and very little time on the road, I have been correcting, no modifying to my standard of build quality and saftey.
I have installed an adjustable front beam with disc brakes, modified the chassis and installed an IRS adjustable rear suspension. Twin carb set up, hydrualic clutch set up, the engine is a 1500cc single port which I am told has a good rep.

Just to show how I'm getting on. The front beam has been modified for the shock mount and headlight. Also because I have a swingaxle chassis I wanted to keep end caps instead of the IRS ones. The spring plate is off a Porche but again modified part IRS part Swing axle and a cheap version of an adjustable spring plate. I have had a battle trying to get the ass end in the air and now have 780/15's Coker whitewall tyres on the rear.

After what has seemed like years I have at last got the stance I have been looking for. With the help of 8 inch wide Centreline and L78 Coker tyres and my own adjustable suspension.

Can't beleive it's been nearly 2 years since putting stuff up about my project. So now a quick update, I have a weekend of welding coming up. I have junked all the ideas I had and have opted for a RED9 uniball suspension so I can get the height I want on the rear. I am going to move the shifter back and the handbrake (E brake) as well. I have now got a full hydraulic set up (throttle,brake and clutch) which need to be plumbed in. Will update soon.
