Re:: Intro

Hi
I've been searching for a place to fit in because quite frankly I think I'm a bit of a misfit. I'm a retired healthcare exec living in lower mainland BC. I'll be 60 on my next birthday and my project is a 68 Ghia hence the Ghizer handle.

I've always been into cars I first car was an RS/SS 396 Camaro but after that mostly euro stuff in particular Audis. We've had 13 Audis in the family my last car was a 94 URS4 running close to 400hp(still for sale).

Enough of that, so to explain my retirement project - here is the check list
I want to be able to fix the car my self so it needs to be a simple car - VW/Ghia. I wanted a 2 seater - Ghia Cheap - Ghia Light - Ghia great handling Ghia, Mid engine...? Big power to weight ratio ....? So I am building a 68 Ghia with a mid engine VR6 turbo and Its coming along pretty well
So you see I don't really fit with the VW purists on the Samba, Porsche folks won't talk to me, its not your typical sports car as when you say Ghia and people immediately think 50 hp and its not really a hot rod. I'll do my best to fit in here even if I do get flamed.

Hopefully, here is the beginning to a long and fun experience.
