I have been a member for a while but have not posted before. I have always had car projects in the works, but with today's economy, I am more on a Bug Budget. In fact, I got laid off in 2009, but hired back into my old job at about half my salary. Still making that same half salary, but that has not stopped my projects.
I have three projects;
1978 Corvette Street bruiser build that I started in 2002. This project has stayed the coarse, but has slowed dramatically due to the lack of funds.
1953 Chevy Wagon. This one is still all original and a good survivor, but I plan to update the drive-trane and other creature comforts as well as safety, like seat belts and disc brakes, etc..
I save the best for last, I have a 1973 VW Super Beetle. Since I am an old hotrodder, but on a bug budget, I have been working on this one the most lately. Plans for it is to give it a look that it has attitude, but with a mostly stock drivetrane for mileage. This bug was my son's first car but when he got the car he drives now, this bug sat in our backyard for over a year. I got it running again and started using it as my daily driver to save gas. I replaced all but one fender and started painting with semi-gloss black. I plan get the stance a lot better looking. Here is what it looks like now. Remember, this is a work in progress.
