hey there. I thought maybe i had done a member intro years ago, when i first got on this site. but apparently not. lol
well, here goes... i'm a life long hot rodder and custom car builder. i'm a show car painter by trade but what i love most is cutting stuff up to make other stuff. lol chopped tops, custom sheet metal work, chassis, etc.
when i was 13 i got a 66 Beetle from a family that i babysat for. i guess i've been hooked ever since. ive had several Beetles since, including my 57 Oval project (that i actually have for sale at the moment).
i've had vehicles that i have worked on featured in many magazines (non of VWs though) and even wrote for a traditional hot rod magazine for a few years. i started taking college classes in autobody repair when i was 15. it was always meant to be just a hobby but somehow i ended up doing it for a living. it does sort of take the fun out of the "hobby" but my day job does not offer me the creative freedom that i enjoy so much when it comes to my own projects, and those of my friends...
so needless to say. i'm not new to any of this. lol
