Re:: intro
My name is Lann, from Grand Prairie TX. Jumped into volksrods the easy way...bought one from another user. Pulled a non-running 72 Super home one day knowing nothing about VWs. Got it running in a week and sold it for a small profit. (it was in really bad shaped after I got into it further and I disclosed every nasty detail to the new owner) anyway, I got the bug fever and started looking for one, ran across the word volksrod, searched it and it was the coolest thing I'd seen in a bug! Search CL all over the country for a starter car, found this one and was such a great deal I couldn't pass it up...even flying out to Vegas and shipping it back. Hope my means doesn't upset the coop. I just couldn't have built one like it for the asking price. You can see I scored the personalized license plates, which I was shocked was available. Hope that doesn't break any rules. It's held on by 2 Kawasaki 650 connecting rods (they had the perfect main journal opening to clamp onto the baja tube bumper) My project right now is my '84 C10 hotrod. Currently have the SB engine back from the engine builder and getting ready to re-install (with a touch more horsepower) So I needed a daily driver and my '63 volksrod is it. Been a firefighter 29yrs so you know I'm old. Like to road cycle. Good gosh this feels like a long intro! AND it came with a volksrod hood ornament. Trying to bring volksrod awareness to the DFW area one stare at a time.
