Hello all. I am Tory..
I’m 30 years young and live in Reno Nevada, married with two kids. I have been building and driving VWs for 15 years. I've owned 4 bugs and one bus. I also have a supercharged 1990 Thunderbird and a lifted 93 GMC X-cab 4X4. I love anything you can paint or chrome. I love the classic look of flames. I have put flames on my toolbox, mail box, Bug and truck.
I have an electronics degree from Devry Institute of Technology in Phoenix Arizona. I have been working on computerized Keno systems for casinos for the past 9 years.
Oh ya, and I like Big Gulps from 7 Eleven!

Damn how time flys.
Update
Since my intro not much has changed except that I will be 32 this friday. :D
I did get a Yamaha ATV for Christmas and it has been stealing alot of time away from the bug. But that will change. Nice weather makes me wanna start driving the bug.
Heres a pic. I am in the market for some new wheels though. maybe 17 out back and some 15 up front. loose the 13s I am currently rolling.

Some plans i have for the bug.
I have been lookin at some polished american racing torqthrust II wheels Pic here. I wanna go as wide and tall as I can in the back (I have widder rear fenders). And I can get a 14inch wheel up front. thinkin like 16" in the rear and 14" in front... (Big and littles) Problem is I need to buy drums with the lug patten, but I don't want drums I want disk brakes... $$$$
I am also gonna bag the suspension soon. With the help of my pop I wanna fab up a new rear torsion plate. I currently have the adjustable spring plate and it wont go low enough for me. Thinkin ladder bar type arm inset a tad so I won't have to worry about my tires rubbin.
Then need to ditch te formuling stearing wheel and get some sweet three or four spoke job.
Just need to get off my ASS.. its tough when you have kids and stuff... They are fun but take alot of free time... but they'r worth it.
The other day I was out wrenchin, Had my boy Nathan (10 months old) sittin with me he was playin with a socket wrench. Had Pantera playin on the radio sun was shinnin and I just sat back and took it all in..... life is good!

Re: Allow myself to introduce.... myself.
Ok were have I been? I was over here the whole time ha ha.
Well thanks to a buddy of mine loaning me a single carb I got my pig to pass smog!! yeah!! I have a licence plate on it for the first time in like 14 years. damn.
It fun to be rollin in the vw again. But I already broke my distributor cap and have an oil leak outa the drivers valve cover.
I HATE my wheels!! they have to go but first i need to get my bolt pattern changed cuz I don't want vw wheels anymore. well hear I go. hopefully now I will have more updates to post instead of my once a year garbage.

Ok.. bout to get some progress rollin on the Bug. Dad and I scored a mustang II front end. That we are going to craft into my Bug. I have always wanted an A-arm front end.
We also ordered up the bags to go with it. So I will FINALY start to update my into.

Re: Allow myself to introduce.... myself.
looks right at home all glued in.
Frame to raise the tank up.
Test fit the stock Ford wheel to see how low it will go. I think The pan will lay.
A little tubing to stop the rubbing.
Front shot.... loving it.

Chopped the crap outa the spare tire compartment... Now that there is some free area where the beam was. We will take advantage.
All skinned up.
Tryin to figure where all the air management will go.
Air bag mounted up under the Mustang II a-arms.

Re: Allow myself to introduce.... myself.
Jetta brake master, Will work well down here.
All plumbed.
Jetta Brake master cylinder.
Rear upper bag mounts to be welded onto pan. bolts allow removal to access the starter.
Notched the rear arms for clearance of the pan shock mounts.
Rear Bags bolted in.

Re: Allow myself to introduce.... myself.
WOW its been a while..
Pics are ok. I took them while bug was in my trailer. So not great.
I have been toying with some chevy wheels I got from a friend. The tires are too big, but I will got some others later. One thing to note is that it lays out still with the larger tires. I like that. But with the lug adapters, the tires to rub so.... too big. Also Im thinking painting them black.
