Default Good Car Android Apps

Hey guys. I have been looking around the Android Marketplace for some good car apps. What do you guys have and like?

I just downloaded Garage Life and I really like how simple the interface is. I also like that I can use it to send gas fill ups to Fuelly.com. It also has a volksrod as the logo!

I downloaded a speedo app last summer, I will have to look at the name, but it works off GPS. My speedo in my 70 bug has never worked, even when I bought one that was and replaced the cable. It worked for like a minute. Anyway, It has never bothered me but I was curious about my speed. On a trip from Colorado Springs to Denver for a show I tested it out and checked it against another drivers info. Almost dead on. Too much hassle though to get it going and have clear view of the sky, worked better with my ragtop back : )

I use a wide strip of velcro and a cheap hard case. It works well in a jeep and should have enough view to pick up the satellites in a bug. Strap that puppy to the glass just to the right of the steering wheel.

If you line it up right, you also have a rolling camera at your fingertips.

My Spedo app is called SpeedView .. it's free and pretty good. I also have Torque for my Bimmer .. you need a bluetooth ODBC2 interface ($30 off e-Bay) and then Torque will provide full engine diagnostics and performance figures ... with simulated clocks too . It's well supported with an active form and a responsive developer.

Both apps are free.

I use "aCar" on my droid to manage my Challenger, I like it enought hat I even sent the guy $10 so I could get rid of the ads and unlock full back ups..

It can track gas usage, service intervals, chart your stats (mpg, cost of car per day/year, etc), predict when you're gonna fill up next based on fill up history and a ton of other stuff..

That's cool...how does it interface with your car? Plug into the OBD?

Deadlines. I love them. Especially that whooshing sound as they pass by.

For my old 81 chevy 3/4 ton truck, 4-speed, big carb, 454 dual exhaust, I always know where my next fill-up will be--- the next fuel station that I see. Pops

I use Slacker and Pandora in the car. Since Sirius sucks so bad we canceled that crap. Broadcast radio is as lame as you can get. Its all Rap, country, the same classic rock songs over and over again and now that Flying bug in a can teenie Pop stuff like Lady Gaga ( whois a Man). Not a single Punk station anywhere other then the ones I create. Love it and recomend it to anyone who doesn't like the main stream stuff.
