Default Major Mojo and prayers needed
Re:: Mojo needed

About quarter to eight this evening, my wife Sherrie's heart stopped. I was right there, got 911 within a minute and performed CPR until the paramedics arrived a few minutes later. She coded three times and is at a local hospital under heavy sedation and on a ventaltor while they drop her body temp to keep her going. She'll be out for at least a day and a half. I can't say enough good things about the Firefighters and medics. I guess that it hasn't really soaked in yet. Today was her birthday. I feel really lucky that I was there when it happened.

Mucho mojo from Okie land. Faith, prayer, and love will go a long way, and can overcome many things. But if the money and insurance don't go as far, let us know brother.

V8, I'm super glad you were there and that you knew CPR. Everyone should.

She'll definitely be in my prayers, and therefore my thoughts, until all is well. And keep your chin up, we're all here for you if you need some encouragement.

Mega - Mojo Sent along with prayers.
I know what your are going through . My wife had a similar situation. When she hit age 40 she began having episodes were she would pass out. When she passed out her heart would stop completely. Sometimes her body would jump start the heart and there were cases I or my children had to do it. It was a chemical imbalance when the blood pressure dropped the electric signals to the heart would be blocked . They called in cardiac pause or sudden death syndrome. The cure was a pacemaker. It paces all the time . She is on her second one . If the doctors recommended it... do it . It did not change her life style in anyway. You could not believe how many people have this .

Lots of prayers coming your way from the mountains of Tn. Be thinking of you both, I can't imagine life without my wife. Get her well soon, she's lucky you knew what to do and kept your head. And sad to say I've worked at home care and the hospital now almost 10 years and have never taken a CPR course, that's gonna change.

Thanks for the prayers, thoughts and kind words. The doctors have brought up a pacemaker and mentioned the sudden death syndrome. I just got home and Sherrie's still being cooled and heavily sedated and they won't start warming her until three tomorrow morning. They don't know "if she's still there," but are doing everything they can. Once again, thanks. Your responses mean a lot and are really appreciated.

Mountains of Mojo to ya!

Wow Man... That is exactly what happened to my Dad a year ago. Exactly! He had "The Widow Maker" They put a stint in him. And he even coded 3 times while at the hospital. They did the therapeutic hyperthermia <--- Probably saved his brain. like you said, we weren't sure if he was still there.

Today you would never even tell he ever had a heart attack. The paramedics who were there and the firefighters have all become an extended family to us.
