Default OMFG
Re:: feels like a new car

finally got around to installing the techtonics/magnaflow exhaust on the golf this morning. it was at the point where i couldnt get the car over about 45mph and it was cutting out and running like complete crap. after we installed it, we read the codes and they read reoccuring misfires on all cylinders. we reset the check engine light and took it for a ride. nearly snapped my neck. this thing hauls ass. quicker than it ever was, and as a precausion we threw in a new set of bosch platinum plugs (old plugs were pretty toasty....oh and the cat turned out to be completely clogged, so it all makes sence. feels like i got a new car. oh yeah

A clogged converter will def initely make it run like shit, sounds like a good change. Especially given the bad history you have ahd with it, nice to hear good news.

Thumbs up Re: OMFG

I would check/change the fuel filter also. Gas is so crappy now, it will clog a filter up quick., and it will let the pump work easier.

oooh, but the ethanol in fuel doesn't cause ANY problems

That foul shit has screwed up so many of my small engines and cost me thousands fixing my boat is isn't funny. my water seperator has to be drained almost weekly on my boat when I'm using it, getting fuel at OTR stations, not the marina, and that's AFTER a new fuel tank.

I like your method better! Have a great time with it now...
