It's going to be a while before I get back home. I'm about to go on that crazy three state tour and I won't be home until the 25th of June... I really need to get back home so I can start working on the car again. No rush on the payment and you can do it what ever way is easy for you, it all spends the same way...

Keep up the great work... It gives me inspiration until I get home...

Why do you have to "put your two cents in,"
but it's only a "penny for your thoughts"?
Where's that extra penny going to?

Just remember saying I'm sorry and appologizing are the same thing.
Unless you are at a funeral.

Well, it's been entirely too long since I've been able to do any work to my project. I've been in SoCal for the last month and a half and the summer's heat has been extremely bad here this year. I'm back home now and the summer is nearing it's end as the temps start to moderately drop. Enough to start working on the car again anyhow.
So, I gotta pick this up and get some work done now. The wife decided that my work space needed cleaning and organizing while I was gone, so it'll take a day just to undo that shit.
While I was in California, I was lucky enough to have one of the Pomona car shows hit on a weekend I was there. I managed to find the elusive '67 passenger side front fender, complete with lights and everything. The guy there said it wasn't even his and that he almost didn't bring it because no one has tried to buy it in the 3 years it's been in his possession (he was selling for a friend). He said he'd take $20 just to get rid of it. SCORE. I took it tot he facility there in Ontario that I was doing the machine installs and boxed it up and had them ship it home for me.....so it cost me a grand total of $20 to buy and ship the fender. I was stoked.
I mounted the fender on the car this evening, just to see the look and comparison to the one I started the widening on. It's hard to even tell the difference, which I think is a good thing, as it means the lines to the widened one at least "appear" to be correct. Hopefully I'll get the chance to start widening this one and finish the other tomorrow. I've got a lot of to-do's to get done for the wife though, having been gone for so long.

Ok, so I've been working on my daughters car (my DD for another year) more than this project. However, I stop and look at her everyday I come home and wonder about this and that. Today I was looking over some other folks projects and it hit me.....why can't I channel the body a few inches, but do it with fenders. The fenders would also have to be channeled as well, but I can't say that I've ever seen one done that way. Anyone seen it or have pro cons to doing it?

EDIT:...Nvm....photoshop just showed me why it wouldn't work. Wheels are not going to fit within the fenders if I try and do this.

LOL i am ready to start. I am desperate to start even!

Big problem for me is that I have to move contries first!

I am coming to the end of my current project in the middle east and then my company will be moving me to the USA via the UK but unfortunatley there are no comfirmed dates for the moves.

As soon as we are settled in the USA, Houston, top of my list is to start collecting parts for my VR project.
I Have big plans, Probbaly too ambitious, take a look at my Intro thread.

I am hoping my the middle of next year i will be abel to start.
So in the mean time its allot of reading this forum and planning in my mind.

Cheers
Ben

Once you get here, there are a LOT of choices you can make. Parts suppliers, swap meets websites, the crazy bunch here at volksrods etc... I'm sure someone will be in your area!
