Default New Member Intro.

Hi all,

New member and fairly new to VW, bought an 81 Vanagon a few years ago (I know) and brought it back from the dead for an 8500km road trip from Calgary Alberta, through Montana, North Rim, Vegas, right down to San Diego and back up the west coast, air cooled, slow, never let me down once, now hooked.

My next project was going to be building a Baja out of a pretty solid 74 Standard Beetle that I picked up, made lots of plans, did all kinds of homework, and then stumbled across Volksrods.......... and plans have changed, do over, stating my homework all over again.

Hoping to grow enough balls to chop the roof, have been looking on here and see so much useful advise and great posts so feeling more confident every day. I would always be grateful for any input and pointers you guys may have, want to keep it Ratrod, not shiny and new.

Will post some pictures....... hopefully, new to all this so bear with me!
