Any color/scheme, just as long as its loaded with metalflake. I think Steve would heartily agree with me.

I like the blue but darker would be better IMO. Check out Washington Blue, it's an old Ford colour seen here on my buddy's 41:

I think the 2-tone shortens the car too much visually so I'd keep it single colour and no flake or metallic or pearl or anything too modern looking. Whatever you decide John I'm sure will turn out 1000000 times better than anything I could come up with anyway.

Two toned gets my vote Although I'd like to see the colors reversed. The solid red is my second, and the orange is my third choice.

Like has already been said, it doesn't matter what color you paint it, people are going to stop and take a second third and forth look

Got out tonight and did a little work on the Sled. I filled a bunch of the switch holes on the dash and got them ground down. Finished welding up the sectioning joints on it too. I also managed to do finish up some of the welds on one rear fender. Lots more to do. Nothing really exciting to take pictures of. Maybe tomorrow.

I did manage to win these on Ebay....

They will be for the front bumper...unless I find a complete bumper from the 55 Merc that I am looking for. I am also watching a couple more bumpers right now.

Just won this on E-bay...

Just the front bumper and guards, but I am trying to get the grill guard and other front trim also. Not exactly sure how I am going to use it all, but this will become the front bumper for the Sled.....one way or another.

I am going to pick it up in Eau Claire, WI on my way thru on the 28th. Saves me shipping. I am going up to visit my family and work on my cabin for a few days that weekend and week.

I like the two tone but it looks good in all of those colors. I think the two tone will influence people into thinking its based on an American product which for me would make revealing the truth so sweet.

That thing is going to screw with peoples heads at shows and shit. Takes some hard core skills to realize such a radical design from concept to completion.

Spent a little more time with the Sled tonight. Still working on the rear bumper. I added these two filler pieces to the inside of the overriders.

So that when it is assembled it cleans up the inside edge of the overrider...

...and it will give me a place to put a nice stainless carriage bolt to help hold the overrider to the bumper in the proper position.

I am going to start on the bumper brackets tomorrow morning.

Oh, adn case you missed it in the "SCORE!!" thread, I picked all this up for the Sled today for $200!!

Got up this mornng and started on the rear bumper brackets...

my sheet metal brake...

after much and hammering...

and here it is clamped to the bumper...

just have to make a mirror image of this one and then two that go outboard at the bumper and then get them tweaked and welded on.

Well, I made my trip home to MN to work on my cabin and to visit my family. I also managed to stop in Eau Claire, WI and pick up the donor bumper for the front of the Sled.

This is what I started with....

After a bunch of and and , I ended up with this...

I still might go with the larger Merc bumper guards ( the shiny ones in the first couple of pics ), not sure yet. Will do a little Photoshopping to try and figure it out.

Here are a few shots of it in position...

I am liking it so far.
