Made the templates and they fit pretty good. A few mods and I'll be good to go!

got an engine for my '64. Dropping an engine in the street in 90F+ weather with a little rinky dink jack is no fun. The graphic on my shirt melted to the street. But it's home now.

I got to carry willie nelson's golf bag for him about 6 years ago at a golf course I use to work at. He is a really cool guy. He gave my friend and I a 100 dollar tip.

not yesterday, but saturday, me and a bud met mkparker out in the country to get my fastys! what do you think of the hood ornament? maybe it'll go on my volksrod when i build one.

and here's the story of our towing adventure...
we get the cars loaded up, one with a tow bar behind me and one on the trailer with my buddy brian. we're headed back about 55-60 mph on a country highway in the middle of nowhere and i hear crack, pop, scraaaaaape and look back to see the rear wheel of my fasty bouncing along the road beside me off into a ditch. pull over and see the whole fucking wheel is gone, drum and all. oh fuck! after searching the fields for about an hour, an old half indian half redneck fella stops by and says, "did ya ever find yer wheel?". me, "nope". "well, it almost hit me coming this direction. i'm an indian tracker, been trackin' deer for hunters since i was 15. i'd say your wheel is in that field *points* by that row of mesquites or along that fence." i hop the fence and look along the tree line then cut across the field, probably a hundred yards into the field, to look by the fence. sure as hell, there it is. so we have the wheel, now what? get the nut off the other car with channel locks and a crescent wrench? right. call my hero mkparker who's still out where we were and he comes through with the tools to get a nut off the other car and get us rolling again. fun shit. then we get to my house almost lose the wheel off the other car as we were pushing it off the trailer - remember the wheel we took the nut off of to fix the other one.

I just got back from a MAJOR company wide (FL, MA, PA, MD) meeting in Philly. 2 days of BS and 1 HUGE night of drinking until 3am. We had a blast!! The pres., owner, ceo., bosses all are down to earth. This is a kickass company!!! You wouldn't believe half the shit even if you would have seen it..

no pics cause i forgot my gawddambed camera at home.. but i went to my bro's yesterday and helped him put one leaf back in the rear suspension of his '50 plymouth.. raised it up high enough so we could actually get the damb thing out of his driveway haha (it was trailered to his house and they backed the trailer up all the way to the garage so they never thought about how low it i and how much of an angle the street goes up at... :P)
then we fired it up and since he doesn't know how to drive a stick, i got to drive it around the block! i've never driven a "3-on-the-tree" but i don't think it did too bad, only ground gears once and that was because i completely forgot, old transmissions need to be at an almost complete stop before you start trying to go back into first gear..
we made it the absolute FURTHEST distance from his hosue (almost directly behind it one street up) when it ran out of gas.. lol
got more gas and tried getting it home but it wasn't happy so he pushed it back, and a few hours later, after tinkering with some shit, got it running long enough to drive it back into the garage.

I REALLY wish I had a pic or two of me sitting in it, this is a friggin schweet ass car...

http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...d.php?t=145630

that's my bro's "pics" thread on the hamb..

hope the wheel loss didn't do too much damage... when I lost a wheel on my 181 it ripped out my fender (they're bolted to the bumper and the bumper was bent when it hit the ground)

No pics But I can hardly move

MAN DOWN ! MAN DOWN ! I plumbed the Baja Ghia. My drive has a slight angle enough for the car to roll. I had the car running All excited to drive her into the shop. My happy a@# went and pulled a wheel chock. The running car started to roll all I coud think of is it will crash through the gate and get slamed by a car driving by. Standing on the passenger side. I grabed the front fender with my left hand and some how twisted myself in to a knot to throw the chock under the front wheel. (Instead of the smart thing the rear wheel where it was.) And snaped something under my rib. So I laied there for about an hour and bring myself into the house. weeping like a baby girl. My wife wants to know why I haden't tossed the trash It dosent hurt so bad now. My feelers were a little hurt

The past few days I had to put the Coyote on the back burner while I ripped out the deck the PHO had in around his pool. He removed the pool and made a dog run. We ripped out the dog run (along with 8 tons of pea gravel!) and we put in a kick butt flower garden. Well, it came time to stain the other deck and we looked at the one the PHO left and basically said screw it! The wood was so dry you could soak it in Thompsons for a month and it would still be dry! So I ripped it out, took 3 trips to the local burn pile and torched it all tonight. 30' flames!

Not really yesterday but...I (& 57Drag) welded up my cracked/not-welded front beam, replaced the rear wheel bearings, wheel cylinders, axle seal kit, brake shoes & hardware. I also took the wire wheel to a few parts and put a quick coat of paint on them.

I went to Typhoon Lagoon for 4 hours with my kids and my mom, got a little too much sun....then spent the rest of the evening at Disney Hollywood Studios Theme Park. Going to hit some of the other parks today.

I am sitting beside the pool typing this....life is good.

Oh yeah....it is all on Mom's nickel too! Christmas present to my kids and I.

Finally got me some time to go to the garage once again.. Been over a month now since I had time to do some work there...

Decided I hav to clear some space there as I have gathered a lot of other stuff there too the past winter.

I started with finishing my effort to open up the Barndoor transmission so I could remove the driveaxles and reductionboxes.

Throwed out the transmissioncases..

Next these parts will be fitted (hopefully) into my -51 split beetle transmission...
