Its not that hard to put a window in. You just need a friend and alot of soap and a nylon rope. We put all my window in under an hour! I never did it before either!!

I tried that, with my brother to help - all we managed to do was mutilate the gaskets. I called the useless, incompetent idiots who destroyed the headliner, and they lectured me about how it wasn't their fault, nor was it their problem... the temptation to stop by and firebomb their shop is high, but probably not worth the life sentence. So, I'm once again without a headliner - I think it's time to give up on glass and go with lexan, which can be trimmed to fit and won't crack as easily.

Arson does not bring a life sentence.

We all know that a Vw will catch on fire with just the right amount of fuel leakage. Find a Vdub that will take one for the team and have them fix a chip.

That was the point... it would be an experiment, to see if morons are more flammable.

Oh, just to make things more amusing - while they were lecturing me about how it wasn't their problem (that they'd destroyed the headliner) they informed me that I should remove what's left of the headliner, install the windows, THEN install the headliner, and somehow stuff the material inside the gaskets afterwards...

Stray Catalyst

P.S. I want to kill something, preferably with my bare hands.

You should have told them "I would explain to your ignorant ass why it's done headliner first but the odds of raising your intelligence is less than zero. Have a nice day." And walked off.

God you gotta love ignorance.

If it would help, I would have given them a fairly long explanation - my dad was an English teacher, and I'm a veteran, so I have a fairly good grasp on "Creative Verbal Abuse 101"

I delivered the '54 body and semaphores to JimW's house for his friend Kevin. I talked to Kevin and I'm sure he will be joining here if he hasn't already.

Looks like the 54 is going to be transformed into a chopped top split window Volksrod!!

Sweet Tim! I can't wait to see that transformation.

I spent all day trying to figure out my framehead brace. With the help of John Jaranson, I think we have just about got it. I'll be posting up some pics of the progress when its done.

He Got the bay running, short vid in my intro. With new rebuilt engine from super.

Then right after scrubbing it down, a major lone storm cell hit us. Mustve done a heap of damage not far from here, em vehicles came in from everywhere! Power went out around 530-6pm. Could hear heavy trucks a lil ways away.
Power didn't come back on til 830 am this morning. Slept like crap with no fan hum in the back ground. We'll go look later.

He took bay to station, they had power, I called first. After filling bay and a 4gal can, $74! that was his $ for 2 weeks in the super. It may get pumped into dragon depending on what the mileage is like the first few days~

What a weekend so far !

Started preparing for the Bugrun 2008 in Sweden first weekend in June..

Took a 16 inch wheel and mounted the hubcap on it. Then cut out the pressings in the VW logo on the hubcap for some air.

Here's when we tested how the VW-BBQ fires up.

Still need to make 3 removable "legs" for it to make it portable.
