Ya know how it goes.......I see a new post and the guy says that he is in East Texas.......Hey! Thats My neck of the Woods.

But Where?

I go to the Intro Section to look up the poster and Guess What?

No Intro!

Now I ask you.........How am I susposed to greet this NEWBIE if he (I assume it is a he) doesn't post an Intro so we can tell just Whom we are addressing?

72westy........Go do an Intro before some folks on here get wind of your slight and Unload on Ya.

Besides, I want to see where you are hailing from.

Was that too Ruff........I don't think it was too Ruff.

I've woke up the last couple mornings with a bit of a sore throat and this morning it hit me...I'm sick!! My wife drugged me up and then I slept until 2 pm!!! I never toughed the 64 today.

She went to the John Deere place to get new bearings for the pulley spindle. I took the deck apart yesterday and the bearings in one spindle housing are shot. I figured they would take the spindle housing and press out the old bearings and press in some new ones. Nope!! Had to buy an entire new spindle assembly...housing, spindle, retainers, blade holder, everything!! Then, you have to use self-threading bolts to tap new threads in the new one because they don't have threads. Of course, it's cheap cast aluminum and Made in China!! Of course when I called up there and told the guy that he gave her a different part number and slightly different housing he tried to make me feel like a dumbass for not knowing that all they sell is cheap Chinese junk that is different than what I have. I figured while I was at it I would put on new blades and a belt since the old one pops off and has a few nicks out of it. She paid twice as much for the blades as I usually pay for them at another place (but these came in a nice John Deere box). I told her to get a new plug, air filter & oil filter while she was there but they wanted $50 for the "kit". No thanks. I did get the mower back together though.

BTW, this mower only has 116 hours on it. Man I wish Caterpillar would make a riding mower. Cat had right at $45 billion in revenue last year. I wonder what John Deere had.

Well, lets see......I got in to it with my wife, picked her 95 year old grandmother up from the hospital, made a towel rack for shop towles on my new tools chest, changed a million shitty diapers, dreaded going to work today, felt like hell, felt worse today, at a crappy tv dinner, went to bed with no nookie.....Man I LOVE BEING A DAD!!! (I really do!, except the nookie thing....)

kid got his 6th grade shot thursday, plus they added a booster tetanus shot. Figures he had 4 of the 8 side effects yesterday from the booster. And over complained about them~ especially the sore joints one , I remember that in 5yrs

Hubby tore engine for super aprt again~ it doesn't pay to cheat. 4 spun rod bearins. But he's learning not to have tantrums about them. We have lost count on this super maybe it just doesn't want to leave here
did a lil decor on my cell phone, just tell which is who's

not really enough room to get too detailed but at least it's got purple on it

We're going on a VW cruising tonight so I had to see if I could fix the transmission problems on KidVRod yesterday.

The gears wouldn't drive so I thought we had a major problem...

I first opened the spare transmission I had to see how it works. Then opened the one in the car, which wasn't as clean as the spare one...
Spare trans.

Turned out that it was only some kind of springneedles that the leverfork moves between the gears that was worn out. Luckily the needles were perfect in the spare transmission so I just replaced them.

Now it drives better than ever!!

Ready to go to the Cruise tonight!

(BTW, this photo was taken at midnight last night... )

Bent up some 16ga sheet for the 4" pan drops in the Coyote. Cleaned one side of the garage and rearranged the cars so I could work on the two dune buggies. One is for sand, (Jalapeno) the other is very ratty but one of my favorites. (Otto)
I'll be grading papers tomorrow an hopefully working on one of the VWs that afternoon.

Painted more rooms in my new house. All weekend long. And all last week. And for the next two days after work. We have the carpet guys coming Wednesday so its gotta get done before then.

Hopefully next time we buy a house I will be rich enough to hire someone to paint.

Worked on my brother's Chevelle. It's going to get cranked over today. Hopefully I set the distributor in correctly, I hate pulling it out over and over again.

I swapped out his old heads for a set of World Products 2.05's. Changed his camshaft out for an Edelbrock Mid-range to Top-end, Street/strip cam. We'll see how she does on the strip now, he still has a peg-leg rear end to deal with. With all the extra power, he's going to lite the right rear on the starting line.

**Update**: Just fired her up about 30 minutes ago. Holy shit! She sounds awesome. I think our neighbor just figured out that Hot-Rodders moved in next door to him. I lit her off with open hedders, and his house is maybe 20 feet to the right of our shop. Must have sounded like a jet-airliner crash landed in his yard. My dad said he was at his back door, peeking out. I feel kinda guilty as him and his wife can't be any younger than 70 or so. Oops!

Even better now, I put my dad's brand new(Father's day gift to him from mom and brother)Mig to work. Welded up the flanges to my brother's old mufflers, then bolted them up, so now I don't feel so bad firing up the motor. My dad made the comment that the neighbors might call the cops, I was like "Yeah right, the people down the street from us are firing rifles, and shotguns into the woods every now and then, and the cops are going to get called for an un-muffled exhaust?"

Yesterday I started tearing apart my brother in laws bathroom. Tore out the old vanity and sink, put the toilet in the tub for now and stripped off two layers of linoleum!

Then after cutting all the 12" x 12" tiles down to 6" x 6" tiles, I started laying them out on the floor.

It's a dark grey/black natural slate. Today I will be doing the grout, resetting the toilet and get the walls ready for paint.
