Looks like a Volvo to me also, trunk handle in exact location, rear quarter panel has the same lip, rear window line's a match, the 'V' in the plate could stand for stands for Volvo...

Good call Charlie, I think you're right. Now that I look at it, the roof was too flat to be a fasty.

These Volvo's are very popular in Sweden when the youngsters build their first car or tractor actually. They use the "Duett" Volvo (delivery version) and make a so called Epa tractor. They don't need driverslicense for cars to drive these...

The top speed is limited to only about 40 kph.

That thing kicks ass ! I want one. Of course it would need a different motor in it. Something non Volvo. Like a 350 or a 318.
Some guy was gonna give me a studebaker lark and I was thinking of something just like that. But I passed on it.

Ghia studios designed the Volvo 1800's. The coupe looks like an old Mustand and a Ghia rolled into one. I prefer the wagon version myself though. They rust up easier then our VWs though But their engines are ultra-reliable. The world's record holder for highest mileage engine is a Volvo 1800, some guy that commutes from PA to NY or something, 2 million miles I think and still going (3 rebuilds)...

Aww... and my '87 240 has only got 277,000 miles on it (no rebuild, no nothin).

I gots a bunch more to go if I'm gonna catch up.

But seriously, those Volvos run forever. In fact, I just did a full tune up on mine this morning. Let it go for quite a while this time between tune ups (about 10 months). Spark plugs still clean (just a hint of tan), never burns a drop of oil, and still runs like new.

Downside?... It's a 4 door Nanny car.

But chicks dig it, cuz it SCREAMS "stability".

I just don't want to have some oddball hard to get parts for drive train. Thats what my VW are for. Anything else just isn't worth it to me to have something that not everybody has parts for. Thats all. My next project might be a Mail Jeep. Sounds lame huh. But I wanna set it on the ground and tub out the rear.

I used to have a mail jeep, actually used it to deliver mail too! It was top heavy and a POS though.

seriously. I always wanted to slam an old Divco milk truck. There is one up here about to be retired by a local dairy that would be perfect, but i'm gonna control myself and keep my focus on the projects at hand!
