Thats kickass Jon!! I always wondered what a mail truck would look like if somone did a crazy ass custom job on it! What are you planning on doing to it (once your done with the vw that is)????????
Years from now I am sure.
I figure with the doors locked open and it being a right hand drive. Extremely cheap. It would be a cool car to drive.
The idea is that I get something like a S10 pickup as well and use its suspension and drive train. Then lower it from there, channeling the body as needed.
That should eliminate the top heaviness. :D
If I ever get around to the Photoshop thing maybe I'll do one and post it.

the rear end of that silver Karmann reminds me of a delorean. Takes me back to my 80's greaser days.

Ya, show them picts. In the meantime here's a Ghia Spyder that never hit productions because it may interfere with Porsche's market share Kinda like a Heb version...

Also have these pictures that are labeled as a '60 Karmann prototype. I don't know any details. Maybe this was a prototype for the Type 3 Ghia?

That Blown bug is from Alabama... which explains som thing, like them reusing the stock gas tank in the back. The two v-8 bugs I've seen in person had fuel cells back there to make it look cleaner than a sideways stocker, but at least they recycled.

give that green heb a 2-4" chop and the right carson top, it would be a beauty. Not much of a "project price" at 12k though
