Re: Frankie 2.0
Got the trunk floor in this weekend. I'll have to get another picture of it all complete. At this stage I needed to put in the couple little filler pieces on either side. But it's all done and painted now.
My fuel cell has a home now. Just need to strap it in. Eventually I will get a bigger cell, but for now I picked this one up cheap. It's about 30 litres, and I can fit a 20 litre jerrycan next to it.

You are getting to the point now where even the small steps are big steps !

Yeah it feels good! All my major fabrication is done. Just lots of little jobs now. A guy I know is putting on a car show on the 26th so I'm trying to have it drive-able for that.

Re: Frankie 2.0
My buddy randomly bought a truck load of random exhaust bends and systems which worked out awesome for me! He let me go digging and I found exactly what I needed!
He also hooked me up with on old set of Flowmaster mufflers he had laying around. Having friends with parts supplies is awesome!
I got my cowl painted so I could get started on my wiring. Still need to body work and paint the hood but I was itching to get some wiring done. I want to fire this thing up! I'm trying to work on it a bit everyday. Even if I just get an hour or so on it. Pushing to get this together.

Re: Frankie 2.0
Lots done this weekend. Just onto the slow tedious little things. Got most of my wiring sorted out. Just need to sort out my brake switch and hook up some grounds. Need to finish up plumbing my fuel system and strapping my fuel cell down. Then it's onto new brakes and lines and I think I will be rolling!
Finally got the tail light tapped and mounted. Also found a spot for my reverse light.
Really diggin how these turned out.
Decided to go back to a stock rear view. The backup camera worked ok, but the screen was too small and the camera was useless at night. Glare from light behind you would make it impossible to see anything else. Stripped the vinyl off and it had a cool casting to it. So I colour matched my other accents.
The ass end is pretty well all buttoned up. Tail lights and revers light are on, wiring is all done, painted the license plate cover, colour matched and threw on my flying eyeball. Still need to body work and repaint the trunk lid...but I'll get to that eventually. haha

Re: Frankie 2.0
Always good, after hours of wiring, to throw the battery in, hit the switch, and light things up!
So Stoked on how these tail light turned out!
So close to cruising again! Can't wait to be behind the wheel of this car again. Especially with a V8 in front of me...haha

Re: Frankie 2.0
This weekend I got the hood body worked, painted and back on the car. Got the fuel level sender put in my fuel cell. Sorted out my coolant over flow, and pretty much wrapped up my wiring. I'm just down to brake and brake lines, driveshaft, fluids, putting bottoms on my doors and driving!
The misses was out shopping and grabbed me this aluminum water bottle. Kind of looks like an urn so fitting with the style of the car. using as a coolant catch can. Just need to put some paint on my strap.

The ‘catch tank’ with its copper line is a slick detail. Is that burning rubber I smell?😲😄😄

Almost! Got almost all of my plumbing done this weekend. Just need one more fitting for my brake lines. Got the engine fired. it needs some tweaking, but it's good to know that it seems to be healthy! Besides the brake fitting and bleeding the brakes, I just have to put in seats and seat belts and she's ready to roll!

If you want to hear a beautiful sound, you need to check out the link below. Figured it was the easiest way to share my video. So pumped right now. Bleed some breaks, seats and seat belts, go for a cruise!

Re: Frankie 2.0
Success!! What a weekend! Lots of hard work paid off. Frankie finally made it out to a show. actually a couple different ones in the same day. Me and my good buddy spent every night this past week buttoning up the last few details to get it rolling for the weekend. 200+km driven over the weekend and no issues so far! Still lots of work to be done, but at least I can drive it and enjoy it! Engine ran beautifully, trans was shifting awesome. Lots of fun when you throw a lot of power into something that hardly weighs anything.
A lot of the shows around here are full of mostly factory restorations, or typical popular muscle, or hot rod cars, so I thought I might get some mixed reviews on it. But I was surprised it drew a crowd and people had a lot of positive things to say about it. It was fun to watch a lot of people try and figure out what was going on, or how I managed to get everything together. Had a lot of fun chatting with folks and think I inspired a few to do the same.
My little monster was pumped to be back out to the car shows with our own ride. She was having a blast!
The boys all getting ready to hit the show. It was the first show we've been to with all our cars since 2017. so good to have all of us rollin!
Later in the day, between shows, Frank made it way to his new home. My lady grabbed this quick shot of him.
My lady said I couldn't keep the smile off my face all day. it felt so good to be behind the wheel of my car again! and even better that it had a nice rumble and some speed to it!
