I have nothing to add that hasn't been said already. I don't care for those much either, although the 37 looks tons better than the 40 or 32, but it works on your ride.

Again thanks for the input. I have decided not to cut anymore off, 10 inches has already been removed from the bottom of the front where it was made to cover the front apron. To me it made it 10 times more attractive.I was so anxious to get it mocked up that I didnt even think about lights. After many comments I like Bills first idea best with the more elongated lights from the mid thirties. 36 Ford units would be killer, even better some Lasalle headlights. Very art deco. Anyway thanks for the input, I really enjoy this website better than anything I have found.

After much thought and study , I still think I need to narrow the area on each side of the grill so it will clear the steering box and mount flush to the cowl.

Just don't overdo it bro. Trim some and put it back on, then trim some and put it back on, then..... you get the idea cuz if you cut too much the first time it'll be harder to go back and add. We've had my bed off and on the car must be 10 times already and that sucker is heeeavy.

I agree Zim. It only needs to be trimmed down about an inch and a half appx. to clear the steering box. Then it will slide back flush with the cowl.

This post started off about the 37 Ford Wunderbug front clip. Much talk was doneabout the headlights and where they should be placed to look correct and flow with everything else. I just purchased these headlight mounts from Hoosierdaddy for a real bargain. Basically all they are is a couple of connecting rods and a pair of polished stainless headlight mounts from Speedway. I used a couple of old Dietz light buckets I had layin around just to get an idea and I like it. Just high enough and tucked in nicely to the grille. If anyone has a pair of lights that would look good PM me. Anyway its time to get my ass back to work on the RPU.

Some 36 Ford or 37-38 Chevy lenses that have a bigger bulge out would look good in those buckets. Those are just lenses on the old lights, you still need a reflector or something to put a bulb in.

Otherwise easy to mount some basic sealed beams and would work fine, just not bulge out as much.

Thanks Al Low Ha ! I also gotta say 38chevy454 read my mind. I think the 36 Ford headlights are a perfect match for the style of this front clip. They are just a little pricey. I will check into the 36-37 Chevy lights.

Hi Dan, they are VW connecting rods. I had to make a bushing to snug them up on the ball joint beam. Super simple and cool.

Take 2" out of the body, and lower everything.
Or maybe a piecut out of the body, only 2" out of the front of the cab and leave the back of the cab as it is.
It'l less massive i think (my0,2)

I have been off the radar for a while and was shocked to see my thread had come back up. I still have it and it is still unfinished, but I do plan to see it hit the road.
I ran into Timbo and Fungus at Bug a paloza today. I was shopping for an exhaust for the RPU. Timbo said my life sounded like a country song. I told him I planned to get back on the forum soon, but didnt expect this one.
I also got to see Dirtslingers RPU. I thought it was killer, but didnt get to meet him. Two thumbs up my friend.

Nice to meet you buddy! At least it's country music instead of death metal.
