Manual tire changer 5 wide adapter?
I’ve looked around and there’s very little information on this. So I’m asking you lot if you have any ideas.
Yes I got a manual tire changer and bubble balancer because the local places refused to mount tires on the vw wheels due to them not being stock.

So yeah. I need to make an adapter I’m thinking about getting some rebar some grade 8 nuts and one of those flat black iron pipe mountings flanges You know the ones with the 4 bolt holes and welding up an adapter
Apparently such adapters existed during the 1960’s and 70’s but we ain’t in those times anymore!
Not unless one of you pack rats has one them hanging on the wall

You’re talking about the ‘late 4 lug to early ‘wide 5?

Not for use on an actual car, but on a machine. I’m uncertain if those adapters wouldn’t be a weak link when changing a tire. For some reason I can just see them bending.
I may just go make what I have in mind. I’ll post pictures of it when I’m done

Re: Manual tire changer 5 wide adapter?
I have a set of 13-1.50 nuts coming in the mail I’m going to be making so something. I know it’s probably silly but I just want that satisfaction!

First idea I had... but I don’t have spare brake drums.
Instead I got my 13-1.50 nuts a bunch of metal and One of those black iron pipe flange things you know the one with the large 4 holes.
Yeah after a bit of welding it works! Looks like a drunken 1980’s mini camaro wheel but it works.
Nowhere near perfect could have gone better but at this point I don’t care.

Re: Manual tire changer 5 wide adapter?
I had an old cement slab behind my garage that I bolted my HF tire changer to. Makes a huge difference. Not sure what I’m doing at my new house. The problem with owning a tire changer is you end up with old tires.

Here's mine, and yes, it's mounted on a granite gravemarker. Just a regular VW 4 lug to wide 5 adapter.
