Default Hebmuller side vents ?

Everyone remembers the Heb' built by Gkafer:

The big question is, what are the vents
in the rear quarter panels originally from?

Gkafer hasn't been here in a couple years, or I would ask him.

I checked and found them in the original build on Geoff's site, but it doesn't say where they came from.

Do the ones you found, open both directions as well? The ones on their site do. I've seen them on many small trailers for livestock and such.

My buddy was considering a repop 32 Ford cowl vent, only $400.
These are MUCH better.

The book "Demon Bugs" has a write-up about the Geoff Peterson Hebmuller Replica V-Rod and the text says:

"...the side scoop from a Peterbilt truck, which helps cool the engine."

I e-mailed Geoff yesterday. I haven't heard back from him yet, but it also sounds like the mystery has been solved. If I get a direct response I will post up his answer.

Cool Re: Hebmuller side vents ?

Irrespective of where Geoff got them or what they might be off, the ones I linked to above are that close to them its not funny. They may even be from the same supplier that provides them to Peterbilt or anyone else that might use that type of vent. Here in Australia kenworth sleeper cab trucks have a vent thats also almost if not the same. But for $38.00 NEW who cares or would even bother waisting time making them.
