So i went to the Bugorama in Sacramento on Sunday, and picked up some parts. I was suprised by how cheap stuff could be!
I also uploaded some pics of my car:

the roof with a lot of bondo smeared all over it

the pan, still need to mount front end, and rear brake drums

model A front end

the brake drums my dad machined for the early ford bolt pattern

smoothed fenders wells

im stilll plannin on building a fairily stock engine

so just got back from the Graffiti Car Show, a pretty big, local car show. there were a lot of great cars, but it was realllllly hot. my dad won somethin for his pontiac, so we have to go back tomorrow to get the trophy. i snapped some pictures with the camera of the pontiac and my bug on the way in.
i primered the interior, and just recentely finally finished the roof, finally got it some what round. so the chop's done!
to do list:
Engine <-pretty big part of the list
DOORS! <-cant find an extra set
Wheels
Paint
Electrical
and a bunch of bolt turning
this a bad pick of the roof, but its done
you can actually see its round in this pic
the interior is all primered, i still need to cut out the panels for the sides

the posts lined up really well, and some bondo made them even better
my dad's pontiac
so yeah i still have a lot of work to do, but im home every day, and hopefully i can get it done soon

new update! (pics)
so things have been going really well lately. we moved my dad's pontiac so now i have the whole shop to myself. i mounted the model A front end on the pan, cut out aluminum for side panels, and the dash, painted the rims, and a bunch of other things. i got some new coker tires, some REAAALLY tall ones, just like i wanted. will update again soon!
the front end:
the new tires
i boxed in the rear end, cuz it was really flimsy
the side panels, i also cut out the heater channel cuz im not gonna use it, and it was ugly

Re: Sam
so its been 100 million degrees out lately, so i havent gotten much work done, and the 19th of july came and went :/
i go the entire car wet sanded and ready for paint, inside and out. its been way too hot to paint tho, it dries in the gun before you can shoot it
i cut a piece of metal out of an old road sign for the dash, just like the side panels, and eventual doors. not plannin on puttin anything on the dash, maybe a clock or somethin
i got my tires on and mounted, should look nice
bullet holes anyone? picked this up for 5 bucks at the bugorama, keepin the holes
i got pistons and barrels, need to put the engine together, shouldnt be much harder than a V8 right? hopin so. still need to finish of that deck lid, engine, paint, and DOORS eeek puttin that off. i chopped it without puttin any braces in, and then read that that could keep the doors from linning up, but i have to chop them anyways so we'll see
ill keep ya updated (goal is end of summer now)

Re: Sam
so i got the body painted, and dropped onto the pan....and ran into a problem. the rear body bolt mount above the suspension is keeping the whole body about two inches above the pan. I thought the body was gonna fit, but i guess im gonna have to shorten that mount some how
but other than that everything looks good, started gettin the engin put together today

here is the mount i was talkin about
and how far its holding it off
so yeah ill keep on chuggin along :)

Re: Sam
thought i should update this
so i finally got it on the ground, rolling. since then i've put in a new wilwood master cylinder/resivor combo, witch was a pain cuz i had to go from the metric brake assembly, to standard, and the bolt pattern was differint. it was fun makin it work though. been doin a bunch of other stuff too, mostly workin with the sterring linkage...witch is being a pain
just got in from the shop, the whole front axle was crooked, so i had to loosen everything and string it to get everything square
other than the steering holding me up, everything else is going good. :)
on the ground:

Re: Sam
 ELECTRICALS DONE!
I'm tuning the engine today.
UP NEXT: BRAKES
Then its drivable minus a mounted hood, decklid, doors, and some paint.
As a goal i wanna get it done by the BOR, make this a one year project.
Wish me luck.
Kinda recent pic:
Had to do a project for biology, so i made a virus lookin thing, it was kinda boring so i stuck i lightbulb in the top, you might notice half of a generator pully in there lol
Shot some paint on the chopper bike a while back too:

Re: Sam
So besides the car running horribly lately (see cutting board) But Ive gotten a lot of work done.
I built a box behind the seats, where the rear seat would be. I made it out of box tubing and covered it in plyboard. You cant tell in the picture cuz i havent cut the carpet yet, but there are two doors on each side with a piano hinge. It seriously sucked so bad making it, but it turned out alright. The box also functions as a speaker box, and i got a stereo and some speakers for my birthday.
Box, sits flush with rear shelf
Stereo mounting (had to cut a nice little hole in the dash)
So now I just have to get the engine running right, and I STILL need to get the side windows in. AHHHHHH they seriously are devil windows.
Well another hot day tomorrow. :]
