Anyone who could say anything negative about that car has no appreciation for the work that went in to it and is obviously just jealous they dont have the skills to do something as unique as your kids car. Hats off to the dedication you showed during the progress. Very inspirational.

I have not seen much negative feedback at all. I guess I frequent the correct forums then...?

All I remember saying is the comment in the lowlife link earler where Craig is picking on the doorgap...

That was a misstake from my side and the other side was done better. The B-pillar distorted when I welded the rearwheelwell and wasn't possible to correct without major work so I skipped it.. Hell, this car is just for fun not for show!!!

Is 20 minutes of video too much in one clip? Lots of different clips in it though, or should I cut it into several shorter clips?

I'm just so lazy I would rather not cut it to several clips...

One clip. I'm too lazy to click through a bunch of little clips.

It will become two clips as the limitation on Youtube is 100Mb and the vid became 146Mb.

As my final post I will upload those vids and post them here...

As soon as I fixed the brakes so they work properly I will let him begin testdriving. At first with hardly no throttle and only first gear. He needs to get familiar with the pedals and steering first. The car is still actually pretty big for him..

Wow. Amazing. I think that thing gets smaller every time I see it. I like how people have to get on their knees to look in the window. And everybody around is smiling - makes it all worthwhile, doesn't it?

The more I see the more I like. I can totally see your kid dressed like james dean trying to pick up chicks in that

Looks like it goes pretty good in that last part of the clip!

He's gonna have a blast with it!

I wonder how long before people start knocking on the door with stupid amounts of cash for it tho...

Those videos are amazing!
As awesome as this car has been in all the pictures I've seen, the still photos simply don't do it justice. The videos really bring it home what a great job you've done on this project. Kristian, I don't know how you're going to top this.
I think you may have earned permanent "crazy bastard" status with this.

I will have to thank all of you for your support and inspiration for this insane project.

There are too many to list but I want to thank Behemoth for his most generous donation ever!!! About a month ago he just PM'd me and asked for my home address. He said he have something that would fit the KidVrod... I was a bit confused as he didn't tell me more... Anyways I sent him my address...

Guess what arrived in my mailbox about a week later?

The first of the two limited edition Volksrods gearshiftknobs!!!!!!!

Sorry, I dont have any better picture of it yet...

I also want to thank Hotvw for the donation of the amazing steeringwheel.

I'm sure there are many more who need a big Thank You too, you all know you deserve it!!

I concider this project as finished for now.

If I would come up with some modifications later I will post them here.

And off course there will be more videos of it later but those will be posted in the Vids & Slideshow thread about the KidVrod.
