popular threads
okey dokey, since we seem to be getting a board full of ot stuff, seems some of the threads started long ago to keep the board uncluttered has gotten lost
I spent most of this morning, I went back, page by page til #70. looking for these threads. I went looking for the one on hotrods and other non vw cars, can't find it~
So in your own surfing,, you senior cutters here, come across a thread , please punch it in. I'll post a link to this thread in my sig under popular ot threads, unless you mods would like to place them some where else, but I think we have more important stickies at the moment.
So look up newbs, find a car with a rocket in its butt, or some goofy shit you wanna share, please consider these first. It's hell to come in and have to look 4,5, 10 pages back for a chop discussion of a couple days ago cuz too much lil stuff is clogging up the system, and I think if your thread gets trashed, or deleted, maybe somebody higher than the rest of us shop floor sweepers, is trying to give you a hint....we're a family, leave the crap out side please. I'm not on a rant here so don't come in here and try to make MY helpful attempt get muddied. If ya aint got nothing nice to say about this then keep it shut.

Re: popular threads
Great stuff Carlene!
Some of these are already in the too lazy thread at the top but not all. I'm at work now but later tonight I can add the one's that aren't.

Re: popular threads
I had another thought... Amazing, I know!
Is there a way to change the color or the type in just those threads? Like the Newbie Reminders. It kind of "blends in", but if it were typed in red (or other color) it might stand out more and not get as read over. The same goes for the stickies. I'm not sure if this would work, if it can even be done, of if it would be more of a pain in the ass. I'm not trying to tell anyone how to run or organize this place. It went along wonderfully for a long time before me. It just might help cut down on the "reposts".

Re: popular threads
I just tried changing the title colour and it didn't work Maybe one of the more computer savvy mods will have more luck.

Re: popular threads
The "What did you do yesterday" thread started by yours truly seems to go off topic quite a bit but I look for it every time I am here. Just to see what other folks are doing and brag about my own little accomplishments.

Re: popular threads
looking for so I can add to the list~ or maybe it can be added to lazy thread.
'what to look for when buying a bug' The search function does not work for any combos, buying a bug, bug problems, things to look for , too long or too common. So if you remember making a post in a thread like this please link it here. thanks~
found one on buses,

I don't remember a thread like that here, Carlene but John Henry has a "what to look for" page at his site:

Re: popular threads
I just went there and my AVG sec box came up with a bug trying to get thru from the temp files, I clicked 'heal file' though.....and deleted them.
I know we got some threads here, those ones that newbs always come up with~ 'I'm looking at a car this weekend, what are the problems I should look for?' one of those threads~

Re: popular threads
I guess about every 6months or so I should bump this~ for newbs.
Don't be afraid to dig one of the threads up, it's how we get to know you.
music, grouchy neighbors, kid pics, your past cars, stupid pet tricks, lots of o/t items~
I've been adding more fun stuff.

Re: popular threads
This thread was started back in '06, I was bored. Several new o/t threads, I saw alot of folks saying 'there's a thread on that already ' so I took a few days and went looking for them. I bump it every now and then when things get quiet around here , and o/t stuff gets started by 'new members' when there are already threads like that. Just trying to help keep things interesting.
We not only learn about you, but you learn about everyone else, if youre bored and bother to read past posts. Some are quite comical.
As for the multiple forums, been discussed, there's enough 'rooms' now. This is the way the family stays together. We all sit around in the same room dropping in on each others conversations. Nothing wrong with that~
Pd areas? oh please, this aint samba. I quit going to an airbrush site because of that. Found another that is totally open. We hide no secrets from newbs, and yes, Steve and his mods do a great job monitoring things, but we were all newbs at sometime, even me. This is a big happy family atmosphere. Good days, bad days, when you are having a bad day, check the list out, and who knows, it might make your day better~
I didn't bump this to start a rant, and I will have it cleaned later after it shuffles back a few pages.
So lighten up will ya
****EDIT****
here's a good explaination on why I try to keep some this list going.
*reminder on posting pics**

Re: popular threads
These are just popular OT, for fun threads, interesting reading.
If someone who knows about welding a whole lot more than me, wants to go thru and put all the links to all the welder threads together in a post , in the best thread? then I'll link it in here. Otherwise, just keep nagging them to search
