Hey guys, newbie here from Alaska. I am 25 and just got into the aircooled VW action, I used to have a '97 Jetta and drove a Ford for a while and my ex-wife had a 99 New Beetle, but always wanted a old bug. Now I can start rodding it out. I have a 68 bug, plan on starting most of the work this winter in my garage. One of my first mods, lol. Custom volksrods.com decal. I needed black and the site only has white so I got a custom one made. Lots more coming soon. Soon as winter hits there will be alot of work going on. Had to replace the accelerator cable today.

Not much happening with the VW, waiting on some air tools (grinder and such) so... still holding.

Well I got the tools today in the mail, hooked them up and my compressor died, I am going to go ahead and upgrade to a better one this weekend.

Started chopping today, cutting off some sheetmetal that the P/O riveted to the bottom, concealing the rusted out floor pans. I will have to order new ones. Got a '65 decklid and working on getting a 67 hood.

Got the hood and decklid on, no pics of the decklid yet though.

Here is a pic of the decklid, mounted with racing pins for now. Also had to remove the rear bumper.

Got bored and had a 1/4 can of spray paint so made some vintage looking Iron Crosses on the door, I wanted them to look old like the car. They will be covered when the car is repainted.
