Default New VW Toys thead

Jada Toys have just EXPLODED their "V-Dubs" line of die cast cars. There are two scales, 1:64 (3 inches long) and 1:24 (8 to 10 inches long).

The first wave of 1:64's is out on Walmart shelves and includes issues of '48 Hebmuller Cabriolet, '73 Thing, '59 Beetle, '59 Karmann Ghia Coupe, '62 Microbus, and Meyers Manxster 2+2. Each car is available in 2 colors and two wheel styles, smoothies w/baby moon caps and a 5 spoke "custom" rim style. Each 1:64 car comes with a tiny surfboard to put on top. There is also one Limited Edition 1:64 scale V-Dub, an all chrome '62 Microbus.

The first wave of the 1:24's is out and includes 7 colors and two roof rack styles of '62 Microbus, 6 colors and two roof rack styles of '63 Bus/Pickup, and multiple colors/roof rack options of '59 Beetle. Depending on the roof rack chosen the car comes with a surfboard for on top.

Upcoming 1:24 scale releases include: Meyers Manxster 2+2 with and without top, '59 Karmann Ghia Coupe and Cabrio w/ top down, '73 Thing top up and top down, '62 Microbus "6 Wheel Car Carrier", and '48 Hebmuller top up and top down.

Jada also has a few VW's in their "For Sale" line of die cast cars. This line also includes both 1:64 and 1:24 scales and are painted to emulate "barn finds", restore-able classics that probably look much like many of our cars did when we found them. There is a 1:64 scale '62 Microbus, and the 1:24 line includes a '59 Beetle, '62 Microbus and '63 Bus/Pickup.

Exactly.

I was just thinking about selling off my entire collection to fund the 64 and now all of these cool ass toys come out. I have about 275 again now. I downsized a few years ago from 5-600 or so. I need a bigger display cabinet!!!

Last I counted I was at 720+ display cars and 5200 carded/boxed cars. That was 2004... I'm probably at 1200 display and 8000 carded/boxed by now... But, I don't collect just VWs. I also collect Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Corvettes, Ferraris, F1 Cars, Military Aircraft, Naval Ships, and Motorcycles in all scales from 1:750 to 1:100 to 1:82 to 1:8...

I used to collect VWs in any size but I don't have the room and I used to move a lot and it was a PITA. Now, it's mostly 1/64 although I have about a dozen 1/18 and a few 1/24 G Ridez.

Over the last two days I got 11 of the 12 first wave 1:64 cars.
The only one I don't have yet is the beige Thing.

Was poking around the Jada site and found these VonDutch Cars

Any one know how they are licencing them? If it's through Von Dutch Originals I won't be buying any of their product.
