Re: Volksrodder Meals - real recipes for cutters, welders, and drivers
The Colon cleanser:
Italian Sausage
Bacon
Ground beef
American Cheese
Swiss Cheese
eggs
Roll of Charmin
roll of bread
Wrap Italian sausage with bacon in a sprial like fashion long enough to cover it. Cook till brown, then wrap in swiss or american cheese. Next mix egg and ground beef (so it sticks together) and roll flat like a large tortilla , then roll up sausage/bacon in the beef/egg mixture and place back on bbq till done, then wrap in more swiss or american cheese and place in bun with your favortie condiments. Enjoy!
*I dont suggest this to anyone with heart problems or single ply toilet paper

Re: Volksrodder Meals - real recipes for cutters, welders, and drivers
This is what I'm having for dinner tonight;
Take one bag of Doritos. Eat.
Take one bottle of Molson XXX. Wash 'em down.
The wife left for Maine this morning and I'm too tired/lazy to cook.
it ain't too healthy but it'll do in a pinch.

Re: Volksrodder Meals - real recipes for cutters, welders, and drivers
White Chili (got this one from my mother in law).
1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cubed
1 medium onion, chopped
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tbs olive oil
2 cans (15.5 oz each) Great Northern Beans, drained and rinsed
1 tsp oregano
1 can (14.5 oz) chicken broth
1 can (4 oz) diced green chilies
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
8 oz sour cream
1/2 cup heavy cream
Heat olive oil in a pan. Saute chicken, onion and garlic powder in oil until chicken is no longer pink. Add beans, broth, seasonings, and chilies. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 30 mins. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream and cream. Serve immediately.

Re: Volksrodder Meals - real recipes for cutters, welders, and drivers
we love doing "cheesy chicken"
Take your chicken strips and brsuh/dip with melted butter. roll around in some finely beaten cheese nips and bake like any other chicken on your cookie sheet.
this stuff is delicious with some piggly wiggly "meat sauce" (cogh57saucecough)

Re: Volksrodder Meals - real recipes for cutters, welders, and drivers
My version of Sheperd's Pie
1 lb ground hamburg (I use ground turkey for less fat)
1 can peas
1 can corn
2 cans (10 3/4 oz) condensed tomato soup (do not add water)
Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste
5 potatoes (approx) peeled, cubed and boiled (or you can use box mashed)
Shredded cheddar cheese
Brown the hamburg in a pan and drain the oil. In a baking pan (cake pan) add the hamburg, tomato soup, peas, corn, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well and spread out evenly. On top of that mixture add the potatoes. Top with the cheese and bake at 375 for about 20-25 minutes.

I'm not a cook, but a VW lady near here made something with most? of those ingredients for a town celebration. The stuff was in layers, though...not mixed. It was one of the best things I've had. What would it be called????

How about a texas tommie?
Take that hotdog, slice it down the middle, lay that slice of cheese in the hot dog, close it back up. Wrap a slice or two of bacon around it. Use a couple toothpicks to hold it all together. Deep fry that be-aatch for a minute or so, until the bacon is crisp. Drop that in a bun and top with chili or your favorite hotdog shit. Follow with a good cold beer.
That's an artery clogger!!!

I stepped it up a bit...
2 frozen burritos. Place them on a plate and microwave them for 1 minute. Flip them and throw them in for another minute.
And to think I went to Culinary school after high school.

Gulf Coast MoJo
Put a cut up Jalapeno, yellow onion and minced garlic in a big pan (Woc if you have one) and saute with a little butter.
Add a pound or two of peeled de-veined shrimp and squeeze a whole orange and some beer in the pan. Add some oregano or thyme and cook until shrimp is done. I let it simmer down a bit to thicken up the sauce.
Make some Uncle Ben's Garlic rice and pile up some shrimp on top.
Serve with Garlic bread and ice cold beer.

Re: Volksrodder Meals - real recipes for cutters, welders, and drivers
Cajun Steak, Rice and Gravy
Brown some seasoned round steak in a big pan with a little cooking oil. I just use some salt and pepper. (Find a pan with a lid) Brown meaning dark and it leaves a dark brown coating in the pan.
Cut up some celery and onion and put in in the pan.
Pour enough water in the pan to completely cover the steak and bring it back up to a boil.
Turn down to a simmer, put the lid on and let it cook for about 2.5 to 3 hours. Check every once in a while and add water when needed. It's done when it falls apart with a fork.
Cook some white rice and server it with steak and the brown gravy from the pan.

Re: Volksrodder Meals - real recipes for cutters, welders, and drivers
Some of the best things I make are the easiest things to make as well. I love to cook but when I need make something super simple and quick, I grab a fillet of salmon, tossz it in a 13x13x2 inch pan and cover with Mrs. Dash seasoning. Bake in oven for about 15 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees depending on size and serve. make some instant potatoes and a veggie and you have an awesome dinner that takes less than 20 minutes.

Re: Volksrodder Meals - real recipes for cutters, welders, and drivers
SOUTHERN STUFF:)
-get a bit of oil hot in a pan,
-skin, dice and throw in about 1 lb. of potaters per person... let em cook (covered)
-chop up a quarter head of cabbage (fresh) per person and toss it in about 20 minutes before potatoes are done
-'bologna slice' 1/4 pound keelbasa per person and toss in about 10 minutes after the cabbage...
salt pepper to taste.
this serves up real nice with sliced corn bread...
I like to make it 'from scratch' with jiffy cornbread mix... add in a couple tablespoons of brown sugar when mixing the ingredients.

Re: Volksrodder Meals - real recipes for cutters, welders, and drivers
ok here is another one:
brown 2 lbs of burger
after burger is cooked, add 2 cans of green beans, drained
add 1 big can of tomato soup, dont make it, just add right out of the can.
Mix all of that together, put in a 9X13X2 glass pan.
Cover the mixture with mashed potatoes.
Cook in 350 degree oven for 30 min. Last 5 minutes cover with shredded chedder cheese. Let melt. Serve.

Re: Volksrodder Meals - real recipes for cutters, welders, and drivers
i'll share my high class cuisine from when i lived in the barracks in that time ages ago before this god forsaken cruise started...
take a small tupperware container (I had the ones that cost like 0.38 each.. and by small i meant like 7x7x4... four being height in case i put those int he wrong order..) drop in a block of noodles, put enough water in to cover said block, micronewk for about 4 minutes, pour in seasoning packet stir around and let cool before eating.. it's very important to let it cool a little... i learned that one the hard way about a dozen times.. lol
also there's the magical bags that when put in the micronewker for a couple of minutes inflate and are filled with buttery pop corn goodness :D
and then there's deep dish micronewk pizzas, and hot pockets... haha, yea i lead a very healthy life.. :P
my two favorite recipes though are:
go to the store. buy a 12 pack of IceHouse longnecks for $5.98, twist one open and drink while walking back across the parking lot to barracks :D
and my absolute favorite...
get one "red party cup" preferably the style with just horizontal lines, but the "grip" cups work as well..
get one fifth of Jack Daniels (more if desired)
one 12 pack of coca cola cans (more if you're making more than 12 drinks.. i find a fifth only needs about 6 or 7 cans..)
stick both JD and Coke in the fridge so you won't need ice
when chilled to your desire (my first 3 are normally warm still..) pour JD into cup until it reachs the second line from the bottom (about an inch up the side or so), then pour in coke. if done smoothly, the coke will stop just below the very top line, if not smooth, it will foam over ;P
this level of beverage gives you a full drink, and plenty of room for it to slosh a little as you navigate through parties/bbws/gatherings of all kinds :D
yeah.. that was pretty much my diet from april to december 2006.. well, the above items and of course jack in the box, mcdonalds, in and out, and subway :D haha

a year or two ago my wife bought me a book called "A MAN, A CAN, AND A PLAN". There are some really quick good sounding stuff in there. I never used it though- my wife is an awesome cook and can whip shit up faster than I ever could.
