Default O/T What Old Movies Would You Have Remade?

I was thinking while at work about all of the movies that have been remade over the years and was thinking which ones would I like to see remade.

With the new advances in special effects and the improvement in computers, I figure there would be quite a few that could benifit.

One that came to mind was the early 90's movie "The Lawnmower Man". It was a great idea and story line but the special effects pretty much sucked.

Then there is "Tron". I'm pretty sure I heard it's in the works but I can't be sure. That movie would kick ass with a bunch of cash and the right director.

My brother suggested "Scarface" and a coworker said "The Wizard Of OZ" but I'm not sure if you could get away with redoing what are percieved to be classics.

One friend suggested skipping "Friday The 13th" and going right to "Friday The 13th part 2". Since Jason didn't show up until then. I thought that was a great idea.

So what do you think?

Yeah Lawnmower man would be cool and I really hope Tron is in the works. That would be sweet with today's special effects.

Yeah I'll second West World! And yeah Tron would kick ass!

Lawnmower man was a disappointment for me since I had read the Stephen King short story that it was first advertised at. Apparently there was a lawsuit to remove King's name from it since they pretty much only used the name of the story! The actual story was freakishly different and would not have made a good movie!

They are making Wonder Woman, I dont remember who is playing her, oh Jessica Biel i think

What was that one movie with tom selleck where he was a cop and there were robot spiders injecting people with stuff to kill them? that would be a good on remade.

Another one that is in the works is "Logans Run". But I think if it's made, the younger generation will think it's a rip off of "The Island".

How about "Barbarella"? I could think of a dozen women I'd like to see in some of those outfits.

Then there is one of my all time favorites, "Blade Runner". All though I think you would be hard pressed to fins a suitable actor that could fill Rutger Hauer's shoes. That guy was the shit back in the 80's.

Second that, one of my all time favorites...

I'll date myself here a bit:

"The car" and "christine"

Think of how bad ass modern effects could make an demon possessed car now days!

Runaway. Gene Simmons played the evil doctor that programmed the spider robots. It was all filmed in and around Vancouver and they did some big scenes not far from my folks house. Momma Thrasher took me and some friends down to watch them film so we could meet Gene Simmons. I'm pretty sure she was more interested in meeting Tom Selleck though

If they redid Repo man it would end up all Ghetto style and would seriously suck.

Almost as bad but not quite as bad as the sci fi channels new series Flash Gordon. Some one should get kicked in the nuts for that one.

I agree. Some movies would be near impossible to remake and do them any justice.
