Last week I picked up the engine I bought.

Now I need to figure out how to mount it to the 094 gearbox. I can use an adapter plate but found another option and that is a new bell housing. Made to mount the Audi 5E and V6 to a Vanagon Gearbox.

Did some surfing on the internet and found out that the bell housing is an "original" VW part. The number is BCY 301 107A.
Checked with our local VW dealer but he couldn't order the part.
Its only available in South Africa.
Any South African Rodders that can find more info???

Thanks, BART

There are quite a few South Africans in the buggy forum on the Samba. You might try over there.

This is the project I always wanted to do but never had the slightest idea of how to do it or the skills to try.

I like wearing these wooden clogs. The only problem is that driving is not easy (and save) with them.
You can buy them everywhere but people are not using them much anymore. Its more for tradition like the windmills and tulips but I still like to use them. Am I getting old ??
Think I will paint a pair flat black in Volksrods style should be nice

I found two options for these bell housings.
A few people from South Africa are willing to get me the housing but the shipping from SA to Europe is very high.
Last week I found a housing with fly wheel in Germany so I think I'm going with that.

Hi Bart, I was away on holiday so only found this thread now.

If the german housing and flywheel does not work out let me know and I will see what I can do.

Cheers
