Re: 3 wheeled contraptions and discussion
It's a one off as far as I know. They have an email link you can ask them if they have marketing plans. Here is the ebay link, it didn't sell but the high bid was $12000.

Re: 3 wheeled contraptions and discussion
Saw a newish Japanese Scooter yesterday, in downtown Toronto.
Only noticed it because it had two wheels on front. VERY close together.

That's pretty bad ass. Unfortunately, neither the federal government nor most states really likes these things, and the insurance companies HATE them.

Re: 3 wheeled contraptions and discussion
I wish they would at least construct a prototype of that but I couldn't imagine driving down the road on a monster street luge with huge vehicles everywehere. No one would ever see that thing anywhere but the open road. I do some crazy shit. but

Re: 3 wheeled contraptions and discussion
I used to own one similar to that... I think this was it though.
Mine didn't have the ferring though. It had what looked like a home made seat out of EMT. Everything else looks right though, with the footpegs that were for the band brakes on the back. The thing was Super Fun! It was called a "TriCat". Mine also had Knobby tires on it. No roll bar on mine either. I wish I still had it! I sold it for like $25.00 when I was young..

Re: 3 wheeled contraptions and discussion
This is what we all had. I think every one of us got it from the Penny's catalog store too. We had a sears store at one end of hte street and Pennys at the other. I remember when waiting for the Christmas wish book every year was like waiting for your first piece of tail.
We built a 2 seat go kart one time with the engine out of a friends XL 350 thumper. he had a guy pull out in front of him and totalled it. The guy was so shaken and apologetic doing it and just glad pete wasn't hurt, the old guy bought him a brand new XL the next day! Two days later we were digging around trying to figure out what we were going to put that motor in first. We swiped his sisters' gokart, mounted the motor and in about three hours had blown the tire out from spinning the wheel so much.

Re: 3 wheeled contraptions and discussion
The one were are building is a Tri-Sport that origianlly had a 8hp B&S motor... then my dad in the late 70's put a 350 2 stroke in it... but that blew up about 10 years ago, so we found a yamaha warrior motor and trying to stuff that beast in it... it will be fun to say the least... painful too

Re: 3 wheeled contraptions and discussion
Yup! That was it! Mine didn't have the Fiberglass though. By the time I got it, it must have been trashed & someone made a new seat out of EMT... It had a picture of a Tiger on the front I believe... Like I said before, it was Super Fun! Although I did get run over once... The Throttle stuck wide open on it. I didn't have a thrttle cable to the handgrip like you shold, I rigged up a piece of string. When I started it I had to hold it back & jump in front of the Huge tire & jump in the seat... The time it ran over me the String got sucked into the re-coil & went Full Bore... I was trying to stop it while it was running over me. I ended up with Knobby marks all the way up my leg, chest & face! OUCH that Hurt!

Re: 3 wheeled contraptions and discussion
I had a Yammi RZ350 for a while. Fast as hell for the day.
Yeah, sounds like most of my experience with the Scat too. I threw myself off of it several times. We had a distinct code of silence when it came to wrecking those things. Jeff "fell off of the backstop trying to get our ball that was stuck" as far as his mother knew. They would have been gone in a heartbeat if our parents had any idea how often we got hurt on those things!

I don't really see how/why they would hate them any worse than a motorcycle.
If done correctly, the car could be installed as an "accessory" to an existing motorcycle (replacement fork/seat and controls).
