The Tri-Rod is one of my favorite style trikes...I have a nice harley and several VW front ends and a sawsall... hummmmmmm... Actually I have a Tri-magnum frame that Iv started to modify so any scooter or motorcycle can be bolted in..The first thing I did was grind the dimples out of the center upper torsion tube to make the springing action less to match the lite weight and lower the front end...

My landlord came down to pick this up last week, it was locked up in the shed all this time (been here 5+ years).

Crap, I need to upload the pics but flickr won't cooperate with me.

It's one of these.

Pretty cool but looks like it's still a work in progress.. Definitely needs a lot more work on the body.

I was looking at an old formula ford chassis to do pretty much the same kind of thing. The biggest thing using a bike chassis, engine and swingarm with a formula car style chassis is keeping the wheelbase reasonable. he eliminated the bike frame. The t-rex pushes the driver much further forward between the suspension for better balance.

I found a site a while back. I couldn't decide between fixing my ghia or buying a motorcycle so I was thinking about building a trike. There aren't any F-1 looking super trike designs but it has tons of links for just about anything trike or vw you can imagine. http://trikerdon.50megs.com/ P.S. I decided to go with the ghia but I still have the page bookmarked for the links.

The Arzens L'Oeuf was built from hand-formed aluminium and plexiglass. Powered by five 12 volt 250 amp batteries that powered an electric motor on the rear wheel.

Pretty dammed advanced for 1942 .... I'd roll it :)

ok, this is a friggin odd story

this is the Welpe Luft-Blassen or bubble puppy in english

It was built by a Nazi scientist conscripted by the American Military to work in New Mexico during WW 2. Count S. von Teleki disappeared without trace and they claim that to this day nobody knows what the BubblePuppy was designed to do. It was was lost for a number of years until being found in an old crate in Alamogordo, New Mexico during the 1980's.

The pix are of a copy of the Bubble Puppy made by an artist who claims to have only been allowed to see a glimpse of the blueprints. The story is that its all top secret kinda shit although they never come right out and say that.

Now apparently a movie has been made about the Bubble Puppy but hasn't been released yet. I wonder if there is a boxer engine in there somewhere?

It looks like it was designed by Dr. Seuss.
