The front looks like an old lever style front end, similar to what some bikes with sidecars run. It pretty much eliminates nose dive while braking.

The suspension looks so fragile too.

Hmm. An early prototype for an Amish move into the late 20th century?

Had to dig for this old thread! Something I ran across today. I'm not sure what lead to this being done, but I applaud the creativity!
I assume it doesn't turn well, hence the oddly placed steering brake!

That front suspension/steering setup is definitely thinking outside the box, I like the fact they used VW parts doing it, I wonder what they used for the torsion bars to keep it from getting so stiff

Coil-over shock for suspension instead of torsion bars?

Yeah I did see that, I must have been suffering from H.U.B.S. at that particular moment, I just seen something sticking out and couldn't make out what it was

I have coil overs, I'd like to remove all my torsion bars to see how it rides, I took out all but the 4 wide leaves but it still to stiff for my liking, I suppose I could put some temporary thrust washers on each end to get an idea, if I like it I could make a permenetly fix
