Wow! I really like the trim on the side that run into the rear tail lights!

I like everything except the front turnsignal placement and the color scheme. The added roof window I'm still on the fence about. the bumpers rock and the trim into the light is cool as hell.

It sure has the collective bus purists panties in a wad!!

I'm sure as soon as it's out, it will be on the 'net somewhere.

I can record it on my DVR, but I don't know how to pull the recording off... Cable company has that thing locked down like Fort Knox.

Nice work but I just don't like the front without the big logo and I prefer more of a cream color than the refrigerator white.

I agree with just having that little script up front. Just doesn't look right with that much open space. Coulda thought of something better. Not too sure on the white either. Looks like it's almost ready for a Coke commercial or something. A lot of the other stuff looks tits tho. I wouldn't cry if it was mine.

I'm sorry, but the frontend treatment just kills the whole damn thing for me. In an effort to "foosify it" they ruined the classic aesthetic of the bus. Its one thing to completely modify/rearrange a car almost no one recognizes or modify one so radically that it becomes its own sort of form (like most volksrods), but to basically do a good resto custom and move the stock signals down low and get rid of the big VW sign that every living person on the planet expects to be on the front of the bus is just plain dumb..... sorry.

Now the back 3/4, the very nicely modified rear bumper, the relocated trim..... I fuckin' love that.

Now if it showed up in my driveway, you better believe I'd piss my pants and scream.... but I'd also find a big shiny chrom VW emblem to put up front.

I'm done..... thanks

I didn't see the front until I clicked on the links. Just looks wrong without the big 'ol VW emblem.

I like it without the emblem on it. It would look hella better if it had some contrasting pinstripes on the nose tho. Overall I like the whole look, Hell, I'd roll the bitch!

Opps. I must have inadvertently logged on to the samba. Did you guys change the page layout to look like Volksrods?

BTW, I like that bus.

Is that the 21 window that Hot Dog Frad had stolen the day before Kelley Park a few years back? I remember being in line to get into K.P. and I saw Fred and Tim leventry lookinmg around through the line up of cars waiting to get in. I was being all chipper and "good morning, guys" when Fred asked me if I had seen his Bus... I couldn't believe it !!!
There was a big thread on the Samba about all this, how the VIN plate from an abandoned in Santa Barbara Bus ended up on Fred's Bus, how the tow truck driver that had the abandoned Bus was very suspect, how some one saw the Bus in somebody's back yard, and Fred waited over a week for the cops to finally do something about it...
And it comes down to this... sad.

Yes, it is the same Original Paint, theft-recovery, 21 window.

I'm glad you think it is sad too. It was a really nice Bus.

These Buses are limited in numbers remaining, and Original examples are getting increasingly hard to find.

I don't think the episode will ever make it onto TV, and it is sad that they ruined such a nice Bus.

I could have given them a wrecked Panel that they could have put 50 windows into.

I'm surprised they didn't hack the wheelwells and put some sweet scoops over the air vents.

If you want a 21 window then no, selling that one isn't a good idea. If you don't care then you made some money and it was a good idea.

But next time keep the Bus only 15" rims and swap them for Bus only 14" rims.
