Default Mark Merrill's VW collection and shop
Re:: Got to check it out today!

Every year on the Friday before the Kelley Park show, Mark Merrill has an open house at his shop. This is the first year I have made it here, and damn I shoulda come here sooner! This guys shop and showroom are just unbelievable. Among the collection of ovals, split windows and busses were TWO 1946 bugs, TWO schwimmers, TWO Rometschs, the oldest barndoor delivered to the US and just for Nick, a Tatraplan!

Now on with the pics...

And here is a link to all 184 pics I took... http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v2...%20Collection/

Thanks for the pics Rob! I love going to places like that, there is so much history in that one building it's insane. That is like going to My Girl Diner, the Museum of America that is here in Polson.

Thanks again Rob!

What does this guy do for a living? If I had that many VW's I'd think VW's would be my livelyhood, but unfortunately you can't make enough money with VW's to get that many nice ones. HAHA.

So thinkin that you either have to have a low overhead with decent shop rates so your work isn't overpriced, or have an insane inventory of parts that people can come in off the street and buy. I think the money for VW's is in parts, but you also need online sales 24/7.

I'm gettin better at working on Porsches as the days go by. They like to pay for work to be done.

I know of a few guys who take their Things up to the Litchfield show, been wanting to go the past 2 years but can't make it do to work schedules

I'd love to see the schwimmer in person, any of them for that matter
