Default what drivetrain is everyone running?

what engine/tranny is everyone running in their rods?

I have a stock 71 1600cc Dual Port engine, Solex 1bbl carb with a swingarm tranny, 4spd.

I really want to do some hop-up stuff too it, already contemplating turbo'ing it. Perhaps with Fuel Injection too. I may use turbo mopar electronics - I hear the 2.2L Turbo distributors may fit with some massaging.

Curious if anyone has any grunt to their rods...since they are...hot rods? :)

My turbo bug is a fully balanced 1955cc with a CB performance dual Dell'Orto blow through RaJay turbo system. It's hooked to a Rancho Pro Street Plus tranny with Berg Poor Mans posi and Sway-Away axles. It hooks up and hauls ass.

I heard some grunting in the garage so I left the door open and it went away by the next morning.

awesome! Any idea how much power you're making? How do these trannies handle the power?

whats that thing gonna weigh? I played with some weight/HP calcs to see how fast it can go in the 1/4 mile :)

http://www.race-cars.net/calculators/et_calculator.html

400lbs, and 100HP would be funnnnnnnnn ;)

1983 2 liter case with 1978 heads with hydralic lifters, 009 distro and dual Dellorto DRLA 36mm's.

It is not quick but its powering a brick on wheels and it does the job pretty darn well. I can cruise at 95 mph and I suspect this same combo in a bug would be pretty damn perky.

At present, i've got a 1776cc with dual 44 webers and a freeway flier tranny. but i think i cracked a head in febuary so when I get home, i'm gonna start buying parts to build a 1914 or something along those lines.
you all will definitely hear more about that once i get home and start asking stupid questions hehe
