mine is the stock 1600 with kadrons , full MSD ignition, and a homebrewed header with custom exhaust.

its much peppier and fun to drive now but still not impressive.

1641cc with 042 heads, dual 36 Dell's, 009 with petronix and CDI.

Funny, but it hasn't been running well since I pulled the battery, wiring, and fuel lines out of the car. I'm thinking that there's a connection.

When it last ran - it was popping out of 3rd while accelerating up hills. When I get it all back together I plan on only decelerating up hills to solve this problem.

1915cc...812lbs..high 12sET.. 23mpg.. super stiff chassis.. dynamic suspension..3:88 gear... excellent DAILY transportation!!...4th gear is my favorite power gear and I can easilly blast up to 6grand in top gear!!...(112mph).. The best part is the smoothness that allows for nice calm driving and the safety of lots of performance on instant demand. Varrrrrroooooommmmmm!!

Damn guys!! Are these daily street machines or "other" use toys?...Totally cool.. its good to see the many different set ups.. In the near futrue, Im sorry to say, we will be talking fuel economy instead of high performance.. btw One of your trikes gets 40mpg and decent performance useing a stock 40hp engine..

A while back, I scored two Hummer H2 LQ4 engines, still in the shipping crates, for $1800 each. Gave one to my uncle as payment for paint and supplies, and I'm putting the other into my 66 Beetle.
I bought the Edelbrock dual plane manifold with MSD ignition, and am trying my luck with a Barry Grant carb. Meziere electric water pump and nothing driven off the crank except a 140amp alternator.
Originally, I put a Tremec T56 Magnum behind the motor, but things weren't working out the way I'd hoped, so I now have a 700r4.
The rear is a posi 8.8 out of a 2010 Mustang, that I'm about to narrow by 14".

Fake Heb. No idea. P.O. claimed it's an 1835, but really no idea what it is. Runs good, sounds good. Has a progressive 2bbl poon it and an unbaffled stinger.

1835 Dual Port backed by a Freeway Flyer trans and topped off with an Edelbrock 500 4 barrel on a Johnny 4-play manifold. Runs great , sounds good with a Sidewinder exhaust. I may not get there first but I certainly wont be last.

Question Re: what drivetrain is everyone running?

Stock 1600 engine, that y'all got for me in 2014, it's about 400 miles shy of having 8000 miles on it
It has a 009 distributor with a Petronix pointless ignition, it also has a set of dual 34 PDSIT carbs that the PO bought for the car, I have been running then since I started driving it in 2011, it runs really rich
A few months ago I strated emailing John at aircooled.net so I could tune the carbs correctly, I was getting 19 tp 20 mpg, John asked me a few questions like, elevation, fuel pressure, main and idle jets size, and ventering size
John told me I was running something that just doesn't work in North America, it had 22 mm venturi's, my fuel pressure was 5 psi, he said these carbs run best at 1-1/2 tp 2 psi, I thought hmmm, so I ordered 28 mm venturi's and 145 main jets, mine were 130, I got my fuel pressure down to 2 psi and my parts should get delivered this afternoon, I'll let ya's know how it turns out

Oh yeah my transaxle, it's a stock 1968 unit a friend gave me, it has reverse which is great, I have had many many issues with reverse, but now I have issues with 1st and 2nd, I hafta shift into 1st without the clutch pedal, otherwise it will pop out of gear, it takes a few tries to get it back in because I think it only has 2 teeth that aren't completely worn off, 2nd gear it just makes a slight grinding noise, but it does go in, I do have one good transaxle in my garage that I need to put back together, it's the one the the reverse gear is exactly the same on both sides, one side is good, the other is bad, I believe it's the original one out of the car, I just need to find the time to assemble the gear box to the rest, I had problems doing it myself, I can never find help when I need it, I have been busy with doctors every other week since I had my brain hemmrage, I only have another month to go, then I should be able to get that fixed
The carbs, I'm gonna fix them as soon as the parts get here, it should run much better, everything I read about it says the engine isn't getting warm enough, I just wish I could have aforded these parts much sooner, I first read about this almost 2 years ago, it was Las December when I sent John my first email, I'm slow, broke, but I try to be good, I'm just not good at having money, it doesn't like me only I can find humus in that

Ron
