Default Waste of money thread

I looked and did not see a thread exactly like this so I'm runnin' with it! Doesn't have to be tools but that's what I just wasted my money on so:

I bought a Ryobi angle grinder from Home Depot. I used it for about 30 minutes and BOOM! Clutch blew. I exchanged it for a new one that lasted for an hour. By my calculations I have about 37 more returns before I get one that will last a lifetime.

Waste of money!

One more tool (sorry, bad tool day) my wife bought me the B&D Auto Wrench for my b-day a few months back. Finally used it the other day. Waste of money! Consider yourself warned.

Except for the friends and occasional enjoyment of driving and working on VW's, this hobby has been a waste of money.

But regardless, I have no intentions of stopping any time soon.

Agreed, but it's still small change compared to other cars and other hobbies. Porsches, golfing, Corvettes, sailing, Cobra replicas, sky diving. They all demand way more coin to get involved and stay active.

VW's only ask for an occasional oil change and rust repair for the most part. And other than some MasterSeries, a handful of dirt from the floor, pine needles, and some tissue paper, I haven't even had to deal with rust in any serious manner as yet.

I noticed that recently with some of the newer hot rod related magazines. I guess they put them in plastic so you can't see how shitty they are before you pay for it.

Any of the several electric screw drivers people have bought me over the years has been a waste. At least 4 of them are now powering scratch built model train engines, so they were at least good for something.

Just picked up the socket for removing the stamped steel oil filler from the generator stand. Rounded off at the first attempt. Total waste of money . . . like most shit from CIP1.

Call them up & send it back! You JUST got it!!!

Maybe they'll just send you out a new one, & you can get the clips we need at the same time!

To be honest, I never had much luck with ANYTHING from 1987. The whole year sucked, and I certainly wasted a whole hell of a lot of money.

Insurance? lets just say, I get my premiums back every couple of years or so. and then some. Medical, Auto, Home owners, I get checks...

I was a dumbass in 1989 and bought a new nissan truck. Big waste of money. I will NEVER have another pos nissan again or a new car/truck.
